PARAMOUNT is the oldest surviving film-studio logo. Though it's meant to be a generic mountain, if it was based on a real one it would likely have been Ben Lomond Peak in Ogden, Utah, near where the logos artist William G. Hodkinson grew up. The early logo had the outline of the mountain surrounded by 24 stars - said to have represented the 24 stars signed to Paramount at that time.

TRUE or FALSE!
In Jeff Wayne 1979 seminal concept album The War Of The Worlds there are few instruments employed that are out of the ordinary, but the ones that are - a zither, a tar and a santur - not only stand out by their ethnicity, but to us score fans by the fact that on that album they were played by a then unknown ...ALAN MENKEN!'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Yeah, this thread seems to "wear" people out when it's in use a lot?
Though I didn't find out the answer to you're question I did google Jeff Wayne and found out that he's a pretty darned decent Tennis player!?

Yeah, I think I heard he played semi-pro (or maybe even pro?) for a couple of years until some injury forced him out? I seem to remember there was something on that one of the eight (!!

I think it may be just the 35 - 45 age set who attach as much worth to Wayne's work as I do. Slight miscalculation (and not a little projection!) on my side! Oh well.
I'll try and think of a more general interesting one for my next one...in six months or so.
