Just search google images for Bob Eggleton. Much faster and effective than the blog, obviously.

And don't forget: these are OIL PAINTINGS!!

Not computer crafted fantasy images, as so often with these kind of subjects.

I recognised his work but not his name, very impressive art.

I liked this one, very Planet of The Apes inspired.

    TRUE OR FALSE

California is considered one of the friendliest places to live for pedestrians. As well as always having the right of way the go buttons to activate the green on the stop lights can change the cycle process of the signal allowing them to cross sooner.

Just heard from a comedian on TV the joke that he was so surprised when landing in the US and finding there are no sidewalks there.
I think that slight exaggeration pretty accurately sums up US pedestrian-friendliness though, so I'm going to go with FALSE.

Most of you were correct. The only thing the pedestrian button will do is to activate the walk portion of the stop sign when you cross.

This one fits the discussion about meaningful or meaningless art a bit:

Schubert once played a composition to someone who then asked "But what does it mean?"
Schubert answered without a word, but played the piece again.

    TRUE or FALSE

  4. I'll say TRUE.
  5. Hmm, I'm wondering if the story might be true, but another composer did it.
So I'll say FALSE, just to be different than most of us here...

Well done, Elin!! It was indeed another composer, so FALSE.

Let me tell you how I got to this story and let me also add that I didn't check any sources myself...!

Two months ago I read a magazine that had some articles about music. The Schubert anecdote was also in it. Next month's issue of the magazine published a letter by a reader who was a music professional. He had quite some criticism on the music issue (that I agreed with by the way) and he also pointed out some incorrect facts. He wrote: "... and the Schubert anecdote was actually not Schubert but Schumann".

    Yay me... punk

OK, here is one, although some of you might have heard of it if you followed the Olympics a bit.

In this year's Olympics there was a New-Zealand athlete (participating in the modern pentathlon), whose parents had decided to make a bad case worse.
The bad case? The poor chap's last name: Newdick.
So how did they make matters worse? By naming him Brent.

Brent Newdick didn't win a medal, though... He came in 12th...

    TRUE or FALSE?
