I've made it my personal mission NEVER to hear that score. From how much people go on about it, and from what I heard during the Oscars ceremony, that's something I never want to torture my ears with!

    How sad.

Personally I find it infectious and very enjoyable.

    Just watch the movie first.

I don't like all of the electronics stuff in that score. Just Latika's theme, the frenetic sitars of Mausam & Escape and the last minute of Jai Ho... these are what I return to. I'd rather listen to his other works like the splendid Bose than Slumdog which is one of his weakest efforts in the last few years.

It brings tears to my eyes, it's so emotional and beautiful. So is A Window To The Past from Prisoner of Azkaban!

The main theme from Equilibrium. But I don't get it: I haven't heard the score for a very long time, haven't thought of it either, yet somehow, it was there, all of a sudden. confused

How odd, as soon as I read this post the first thing that came into my head was Neal Hefti's theme and NOT Elfman's wink

For me, it's Goldenthal's theme that pops into my head every time I think of Batman.

I love Elfman's scores. But I also love Goldenthal's. But I never really compare them since they're two (four) very different beasts, all of them wonderful and awesome in their own rights.

I also love Zimmer's and JNH's Dark Knight score.
I know, I'm immoral and I'm going to hell. I can live with it though.

Actually, mine too! Especially after I saw how it worked in the movie. I play Why So Serious when I'm in a particularly irritated mood, ironically it calms me down! biggrin

You just might like the compliation release from Silva if your interested in those kind of releases. I liken it more to attending a concert. Elfman, Goldenthal, Walker, Howard/Zimmer, Drake, and Hefti are represented.
    listen to more classical music!
