    Second, third and fourth that!
One of my very favourite Morricones, and a continually brilliant listen. Simply brimming with mood and chocfull of themes! There's NOTHING there not to like!

    NP: El Cid

    No need to say anything!!!
Whatever you gaze rests on,do not use your vision, but the eyes of your soul...She knows better...
  2. Agreed, Demetris.

James Newton Howard - The Interpreter

I for one like this score, it is inspired by Bourne, but Howard's rhythmic sensibilities, especially in Zuwanie Arrival at UN and Assassin. The build up of intensity is interesting, though Matobo is an example of how NOT to start an album biggrin

Two of my very oldest friends Mark & Ian ( brothers ) came to see me this afternoon, we grew up together and through me they both have a healthy taste in film music and they requested a selection of scores, we shared a bottle of red and amongst the scores requested I've played tracks from this afternoon are....

    FINAL FANTASY
    THE THIN RED LINE
    BATMAN FOREVER
    STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE
    THE BIG COUNTRY
STAR TREK II THE WRATH OF KHAN
    TOMORROW NEVER DIES
    STARSHIP TROOPERS
    WAR OF THE WORLDS
    RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

Quite a mixture really dizzy cool

Among those scores I'm sure many of you will be able to guess whhich tracks were played!?

NP: Ponyo on a Cliff - Joe Hisaishi

Wonderful music. Multiple themes, woodwind solos, swashbuckling, operatic solos. What more could you ask for? Certainly my favorite score of the year thus far.

    Skills. You haz them. biggrin

Well, just got back from Portsmouth to swap cars (new for old, it's safer that way) and to get some stuff I forgot, so I now have internet for a few days. Needed something refreshingly orchestral after the drive up, so...

    The Blue Planet George Fenton

    Ahhh, decent sound system.

I love that it's a proper, exciting action score with melody. That kind of approach is rare, particularly these days. Brian Tyler, for example, tends to create the antithesis to melodic action music.
  5. NP: Is Paris Burning? - Maurice Jarre

Probably my most played score this week. punk
