  1. FilmMusicReporter is reporting Joss Whedon has scored his own next film, "Much Ado About Nothing":
    http://filmmusicreporter.com/2012/07/18 … t-nothing/

Yes -- really likes Burwell, but doesn't get him. Wept when he heard River's theme in "Serenity", but no no -- don't get David Newman. He's too busy scoring ... I guess Coke and pizza.

  2. Every now and then something you hope for happens. And here it is. Just posted at FSM:

Hi everyone, as a fellow score enthusiast I wanted to post here about our film project.

I am directing a documentary film titled Fight for Space. The basic premise of the documentary is about the future of the US space program. Today, the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing we have launched our Kickstarter funding campaign. More information below.

How does this relate to FSM? We have signed on Star Trek TNG & Family Guy composer Ron Jones to create the score for our film and are offering his future "space themed" autographed score as one of the rewards for our project. We hope you will take a look at our project, share it, and perhaps support our campaign.

    Thank you!

So who on earth is this Paul Leonard-Morgan and how does he deserve to follow up the great Alan Silvestri on this upcoming Dredd thingie?
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  10. He workjed briefly on a few scores, orchestrating/arranging, with Craig Armstrong, and why? Who knows. But if you don't like this, check out the composer duo originally on the film.

The director just has a very much different idea as to what the music should be. Consider ourselves lucky, he could have picked Tyler Bates, and Movie-Wave would have another ZERO STARS rated score.

It sucks that William Ross was replaced by Badelt on Seven Days In Utopia because that is pretty much the very worst Badelt score I have ever heard.

Why does it seem like more than 50% of upcoming projects this year are by composers I've never heard of?
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  13. And for projects that are never heard of again.

  16. "Mad Max: Fury Road"
    John Powell

At least, it should still be! Back in 2003, MusicFromtheMovies.com reported Powell was going to score the film. Same director and the film is finally coming out in 2013. I assume it was shelved and Powell already scored it back then.

Ha, I remember adding this on his "upcoming" list years ago. I wonder what it will sound like now compared to what it would have been back then. Of course, we'll never know.
