Joep, have you seen the Norwegian film VALLEY OF SHADOWS, featuring a score by Preisner and vocals by Lisa Gerrard?
Not only is it one of my favourite films of the year, regardless of nation (drop-dead gorgeous), it also features a fantastic score, and lots of room for the music to shine. The music is not yet released commercially, but I urge you to see the movie if you get the chance. It's doing the international rounds now.I am extremely serious. -

Yes, it is such a great score and love the use of the vocals of Gerrard. -

Zbigniew Preisner: Piano Music is coming soon:

Dutch pianist Jeroen van Veen is also known for his excellent releases of music by Richter, Einaudi, Pärt and others. His selections are a solid presentation of the music by Preisner, but doesn't offer something unexpected. -

Preisner Productions has made Skyggenes dal (Valley of Shadows) available as an download. I'm still awaitening the outcome of a social media poll that will hopefully result in a cd and or lp release. Nonetheless, great news that it's digitally available!
Has anyone heard Zbigniew Preisner: Piano Music? I'm curious what others think of it... -

SKYGGENES DAL is my favourite score of last year. Had a promo for a while, but glad to see it finally getting a proper release. A must-have!I am extremely serious. -

There is a really, really small difference in duration between the promo and the official release, but it's just the fading in and out that is responsible for that.
I have found these little iscrepancies rather annoying on a personal level. Many cd releases have a back insert stating something like 30:09, while the inserted cd states something like 40:09. No idea, why such small, and perhaps irrelevant, details may be the cause for cunfusion, especially when there is more than a minute ''unaccounted for''. -

There's less than 30 seconds difference in this case. Probably due to fade-ins and outs, as you say.I am extremely serious. -
- CommentTimeAug 22nd 2018
Yes, if you put the promo through some mp3 editing the difference between the promo and the release is only about 3 seconds in my case.
Thanks for pointing out that Skyggenes dal is actually Valley of Shadows - I usually keep the original language at the title of the album and didn't realise that they were both the same! The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

No, I haven't yet. But like Vangelis' NOCTURNE, I'm looking forward to Preisner's piano-driven solo album.I am extremely serious. -

It's a fine score -- albeit very short at 11 minutes. But it's a short film, and actually a pretty good one. I saw it at this year's (digital) Norwegian short film festival.
Caldera is about to release the score for Preisner's ANGELICA (2015). I've received a promo, and looking forward to delve into that.I am extremely serious. -

A new BBC interview:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000n … 9ytkxHRvjA
A snooze fest. It´s just another flawed career overview. I have learned he loves diving and that the interviewer shows little interest in allowing him to talk about new projects, apart from a very general remark on his new collaboration with Fernando Trueba. -

They're both great -- although after the gobsmackingly beautiful VALLEY OF SHADOWS in 2017, the bar has been set impossibly high.
Haven't heard the psalm, though. Curious about that.I am extremely serious. -
