  2. Well I can't imagine that horse not being hurt, blasting through the wind shield like that with its legs.

Ah....I see. Well, I can actually understand both sides. One the one hand, it's not exactly fair play by the goal scorer. On the other hand, he DID pressure the keeper to make a clumsy mistake, which is easily punished in top football.

As you say, he pressurised the 'keeper into making a mistake, the 'keeper tried to recover, looked like he twisted his knee in the process and went down. The goalscorer took advantage of the situation.

    GOAL!

Fair play? Puh-lease! The point of the game is to score! If the ref doesn't call the play dead then game on! I mean, this happens ALL THE TIME in soccer. For instance, if a player gets injured (or most of the time fakes one) in the middle field the game goes on.

From what I understand, the goal keeper had already been injured in a previous situation but the coaches chose to let him continue. So they knew the risk. But still, I wouldn't have had the guts to score there knowing the bad tempered Eirik Bakke (ex-Leeds red card spesialist!) was on the other team!

Since there are so many Dutch people here (and sorry again, Bregt!), I thought you - in particular - would love the videos below.

I think these videos could only be funny to anyone except the Dutch. To us it's just a song. It makes no sense at all with the sketch. But I understand what you mean, it could be nice to see our language being used.

    an obscure(?) Dutch skit

Not obscure at all in The Netherlands: Wim Kan, the originator, is one of Holland's most revered "cabaretiers" (there is no English equivalent: it's a cross between someone doing skits, vaudeville show and songs), though by todays standards his skits are terribly slow and outdated.
I can't watch them without cringing.

    It's Wim Sonneveld of course!

Yes, you're probably right. However, I would also have found it funny if I saw a Dutch, totally outlandish skit that used a random Norwegian cabaret song. At least I think so.

Well, a 4-minute commercial which looks like a long trailer is certainly impressive in itself, but the film was a little too bittersweet, clichéed and on-the-nose for me. And of course, wasn't much better by using the often-used "Canon" by Pachelbel as the main theme.

Hehe, I used to watch that on BBC Prime. Funny as hell, and rather insane. A danish version was also made, with two of my favourite danish comedians. Not as funny though as it seemed more like a copy.
