    Hehe! biggrin

Here's another clip, featuring the internationally reknowned dance troup Kenzo Kuppel recreating a royal birth by dance (starts at 0:57): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKWNierzbSs

Btw, it's best to be drunk when you watch it. The drunker the better.

    Peter biggrin

Well, that latter clip is more regular performance/modern dance, which is more weird than funny, but uhm...interesting. smile

Hint: It's not actually a modern dance group. It's just surreal humour.

Here's another danish video I'm addicted to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFGzGfym-7Y

The geekiness and cheesiness of the band just makes this video absolutely hilarious. But it also offers amazingly catchy music and the sexiest chicks on the planet.

It's a funny send-up, but too long (the point is made within the first 45 seconds), which is the main thing I hold against this kind of pastiche: generally watching the actual originals is already funny enough. It's rather pointless making a complete make-over. That's like doing a scene-by-scene remake of Robot Monster or Glen Or Glenda.

Edit: the Apache dance the girls are doing is very funny! biggrin

Well, it's quite obvious that they are - at least - trying to be funny.

Which is more than can be said of this "classic":

You mean the "Apache" video? That one actually is from the 80s!

Yeah, but it's a send-up of the seventies, isn't it?

If it's an actual music video/performance, it's hilarious!

It is the real deal, not satire at all. Of course we were always a few years behind here in Denmark, so our early 80s were like the rest of the world's 70's.

As for the classic Inspector Clouseau, this stuff is classic; unbeatable. Makes the stupid people behind the hideous remakes look even more idiotic and should-have-jumped-off-a-cliff for the crap they call "movies".

Indeed, it literally makes me cringe whenever I see scenes of Steve Martin as Closeau. I just feel so embarrassed for him. It's so ridiculously bad, it's beyond words.

Indeed. That's VERY embarassing, especially knowing how good Martin can REALLY be if he's got the material to work with. Equally embarassing is the fact that one of our Norwegian director hot shots, Harald Zwart, has directed one of these godawful remakes (he's now working on the KARATE KID remake).
    I am extremely serious.
  4. I found Steve Martin at his best in Father of the Bride, Parenthood and Grand Canyon. He can be a great actor if the conditions are right.

But I will never ever watch those supposedly funny Pink Panther remakes.
