    Depends if you're stereotyping. I guess a "nerd" has certain weedy connotations and attributes -i.e. the social shut-out- whereas "geeks" are simply people with a lot of knowledge in a certain subject (pretty much everyone on this forum).

    I'm just not sure I understand why blowing up a balloon is nerdy? dizzy

    Here's the deal, a NERD goes into the effort to build that balloon only to destroy it afterwards. Waste of time and get a life situations.
    A Geek, builds a way better balloon and puts it into some good use. Either offers knowledge or gains money from it wink

    And when i talk of nerds, i usually mean this. Everybody does.

    In Norway, it's the other way around. 'Geek' has more negative connotations than 'nerd'.

    Both words have had bad connotations, geek seems to be one of those 'reclaimed' words.
