    It's the election season in India. Previously they used to mark the forefinger with a black stain if you voted. This time it's different-

    Well, you know, I don't really blame them. The trauma of 9/11 goes deep in that city. The people doing the photoshoot should have informed the public of this even better (I understand that the NY major is furious, as he was not told about it), through a news bulletin or something.

    Either that, or just use damn photoshop to create the plane with statue of liberty shot.

    It's an indemnity clause US based companies (or companies with a US stock market presence) are forced to include to make sure they won't get into stinking hot water with the feds if anyone happens to take an iPod into Cuba, Libya or -God forbid- Iran.

    It's not the fact that iPods might actually be used in missile construction, it's just that there are general embargoes against certain 'rogue' states that prevent the import of any kind of microchip technology or even software, which is a bitch for normal commerce practices.
    That's why you get these ridiculous disclaimers.

    I've had my fill of comparable weird and inexplicable issues trying to get anti-virus protection for laptops in Syria... dizzy

    I don't know.
    I've seen completely comparable disclaimers (thogh the reference to missile technology may be a bit over the top... however... come to think of it. That's the exact same thing the Dutch government is now using to refuse Iranian students from participating in technical studies at Dutch Universities... because they "might employ their knowledge into missle and nuclear technology".
