Oh! yes, at last, there is a heavy heavy rain in my city. I prayed for this moment. Oh! yes, Now Raining.

I had torrential rains for four solid days when in Ubud (the capital of Bali).
The first five minutes were quite nice, but when you find everything you wear or own is wet and the humidity is such that there simply is no way to get things drier than very, very damp indeed, the coolness and excitation starts to wear down very rapidly...'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

I love torrential tropical rain but as you point out there is a point where it's no longer welcome. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

The first 4 days in San Diego were warm but today there is a cooling trend but far warmer than Minnesota.

There will likely be a swing of 45 degrees (F) so yes. At least there is no snow forecast for the next 10 days.

It may be that my body simply still physically longs for Bali, but I'm COLD and WET.
I'm taking my winter coat out of storage...

The world outside has the look of a black & white 1960's British kitchen sink drama, something like The Loneliness of The Long Distance Runner....it's dull, gloomy, cold and wet

It has been sunny all week here. Last weekend (well saturday to tuesday) , we had an "indian summer" with temperatures hovering in the 18 degrees Celsius vicinity, which is 11 degrees higher than normal. It is certainly appreciated now since november is usually quite dark and grey. -

Well, we've had over a week of hot days in the late 30 degree range and tomorrow it's going to hit 40!
Not bad considering it's still spring here in Adelaide, South Australia! -

In fact one street ( where the drains are obviously blocked ) was so flooded you could honestly have paddled a canoe down part of it.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

One very interesting thing that I've noticed in Minneapolis, at least in the apartment I live in, is the effective use of insulation. Right now it is in the upper 30's outside and I have the window open to keep the temperature at 70 degrees. I think I also benefit from the fact that I'm on the third floor and duh heat rises but I've not had the heat on yet.
In San Diego if the temperature got down to 50 I would have to use the heat to keep the temperature at 70.
Interesting observation.
