    Today is particularly nasty, just as James said yesterday we are now being battered by high winds and cold driving rain, I've just got back home ( Saturday food shopping etc ) and I don't intend going back out.....at least until later tonight wink beer

    Very dark, very rainy, so dark that I have all the lights on, but I love it!!

    Can you imagine I'm sitting here in de middle of the day, in the dark, listening to Journey to the Line and still feeling totally happy?? Haha.

    I can imagine. Autumn is my favourite season. I love dark, rain, staying indoors or the freshness of being outdoors (preferably not with TOO much rain, though), there's no social "pressure" to go outside and sunbathe and whatnot, which it is during summer (often even a self-imposed pressure).

    Grey and rainy here as well...though unlike many members here, I don't like it at all.

    I don't usually get depressed myself, but if I do, it's ironically in spring, when everything is blossoming around you, including the people, but you just don't feel that blossoming inside yourself. At least in autumn, EVERYONE has to share the outdoor darkness.

    I agree this time of year it's easy to get a bit depressed. For some reason I got two bad weeks already and I'm just feeling better now (I was extremely tired and a bit down). Funny enough the weather is doing the exact opposite, but I'm still happy with it. I feel better and the weather is getting really dark. Nice and cosy, as long as I don't have to go by bike!!

    Thor, I agree with you too, if the weather is nice like in summer, I feel bad when I stay inside, but I am an inside person... it's just that you keep telling yourself 'the weather is nice, you should go outside!'

    Most of the time I don't feel like it. One reason is you can't use a laptop outside. Reading books is nice in the sun and sleeping. But most of the time I use the laptop. Did they invent a screen that is visible in the sunlight yet? That would be cool.

    I like this weather, with the heater and lights on and it's nice inside and I just want to be on the couch with a book.

    But! I'm also looking forward to spring.

    I'm really a bit afraid of winter, because some days I have to use my bike...

    You know what would be nice? Two weeks of autumn with nice trees, heavy rain and wind, two weeks of freezing winter including snow and ice and the rest of the year spring and summer.

  26. I know someone at work who was planning to visit her parents' house in Cockermouth at the weekend but was advised against it - their house was under several feet of water.

    It must be devastating to have this happen. Take a moment to look around your house (at ground level) and imagine what you would lose if your house was suddenly deluged by 4-6 feet of muddy water. I'd lose TV, DVD, amp, books, Wii games (and Wii console), lots of CDs, computer...the list goes on.
