    It's DEFINITELY server-side.
I can find only one hit, on a Polish site from someone who experiences something similar with an Apache server.

Translation suggests some missing files in the root:

    Whatever the f*ck THAT means!
    Anyway.
    Server.

On my desktop I upgraded to Opera 20 and everything works fine again.

Have you all installed the latest version of Opera?

I've had Opera 20 (20.0.1396.72047) on my phone for a while so I am having the problem with that version.

Open front page of Maintitles > works fine...switch on Off-road mode and refresh > "Forbidden" error...switch off Off-road mode and refresh > works fine.

    dizzy

Sorry not to have seen this sooner.

Yes, I can now access the site using both the "normal" and "Off-road" versions.

The same is true for the IFMCA site.

Okay. It seems your browser that is up to date sends a wrong user agent string to the server. This means that while you use version 20 of Opera, it seems to send a user agent string that says something else (from an earlier version). My provider blocks user agent strings of versions that it knows are harmful, and this older version is on that list of blocked browsers. So what is weird is that even though you use version 20, it appears to send a different user agent string. I now have to check why that is for this version of Opera.

    Does that make sense?

Alan, since you have the latest version of Opera, I still don't know why this blocks your browser.

How does opera compare with Chrome btw?
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I much prefer Chrome when using my PC but I don't think that there's much between them (I'm not one for needing add-ons, extensions, etc so can't say anything about those). But I do like Opera's "Speed Dial" - and that's what sways be to use Opera on my phone.

I do have Chrome on my phone - it's an Android phone so I have no choice - but I very rarely use it.

Opera's speed dial exists as similar add-on for Chrome, right?

So maybe some of you computer wizards could help me with this:

For a few weeks now, Chrome has been wonky. Sometimes when I click a familiar page, I get this error message: "This web page is not available. ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. And then when I click "details": "Could not find server at [given web page] because DNS failed" etc.

But then when I load the page in Explorer, everything works fine, and when I then go BACK to Chrome and refresh after Explorer has loaded it, it works fine, as if Explorer has told Chrome that everything works.

What's happening? There's clearly something wrong with the Chrome settings somewhere, but I don't know what.

I accidentally opened Microsoft Edge yesterday (I've had it since upgrading to Windows 10 but assumed it would be rubbish) and have been very pleasantly surprised. Faster and slicker than Chrome (which appealed to me because it was fast and slick), I think I will stick with it...
  5. Wait for a month. The large update coming in September will actually allow plugins, which it doesn't at the moment.

  6. Chrome is extremely slow, despite not having many add-on. It's especially bad on my Android phone. All Google's apps have become slow over last few months.

    Any other Chrome users here?

Recently, there have appeared extremely irritating "hover cards" over the flags at the top. Anyone know how to disable these?

Thanks, but alas not. I tried that, but didn't help (besides, they've removed the option to edit in the current update -- there's only something called 'tab hover image' or something, and disabling that didn't help either). I also tried reverting to a previous version of Chrome, but it updates automatically to the current version, and then we're back to scratch.
