That's what I call indecisive. Like when the underground train stops and you are equidistant between the doors on your left and your right. Which one do you choose!?

I find it a very interesting CD. I don't LOVE it is what I mean, but then again there's a lot of things I listen to that I don't love. The first two tracks - which run 16 minutes together - are the ones that interest me the most. And track 8, which features just the cello and the piano.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

I try to mind the gap between the train and the platform

A great and listenable album. Is it me or Vangelis is better in his non-film music efforts?http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

I've mostly always liked both equally.
NP : EXODUS - Wojciech Kilar
Magnificent 'Bolero' like work for full orchestra and choir, melodically catchy and brilliant, a moving and poignant work.
p.s. Seems this was Spielberg's temp track for Schindler's list, used in the trailer and also hints in the track 'Schindler's Workforce' on the soundtrack. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

p.s. The album is called 'Forwards', as far as I know it's the only album they've done so far?

There's one or two tracks that could have come straight off Zero 7's 'Simple Things', you'll know it when you hear it.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

NP: 'Ambush from 10 Sides', as performed by the Silk Road Ensemble on their album NEW IMPOSSIBILITIES
Wow. This is best piece of 'film music' I've heard this year. This really puts to shame most Eastern-tinged action music ever written by western film composers. A classic of Chinese program music, the way it sustains and builds energy over 12 minutes with its unique mix of textures is remarkable.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

It really was! Sir Andrew Davis is a legend. He's also got a very endearing and likable demeanor, I've enjoyed watching him conduct at the Proms since I was a wee lad.
Next year I'm booking tickets early...

Just wondering if you've heard of a composer named Vincent d' Indy?, a pupil of Franck and a contempory of Debussy and Ravel. A recent release on CHANDOS has picqued my interest!?
I have. Love his Symphony on a French Mountain. He's got the colours of Rimsky-Korsakov and the poetry of the French you mention.I am extremely serious. -

WOW!
I guess there's always the "purists" out there!? I find Mussorgsky's piano score interesting but there's no doubt in my mind that it would never have become the popular work we know today without Ravel's sublime orchestration.
That "someone who will remain nameless" should be thankful there's more than one version to compare? Would that "someone" have even known the work if not for Ravel? On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt
