Thanks for the tip, but I just ordered it from amazon. The score is available at sheetmusicplus.com, but only with piano reduction. I hate it when the publishers have to be so practical all the time...

NP: Jumper by Chris Tilton
Definitive improvement over Powell's score, and it sounds Powell even at times
Tilton shows some moves, but it could have been better. I think Mercenaries 2 will be just that

NP - West Side Story - Leonard Bernstein
The 1984 recording conducted by the maestro. Wonderful performances! I picked up this anniversary edition for a budget price in Bergen in October, while attending the international film festival there. "Somethings coming" is my favourite, followed by the prelude with its kick-ass riffs and percussion grooves. -

Yup, the music successfully links the musical genre to operatic standards. I have to get around to hearing his opera Candide one of these days. Do you know it? -

NP: "Music" (John Miles)
My God, this is a beautiful song. Melancholic bliss! As I'm a fan of Alan Parsons, Supertramp etc., this is an obvious extension of that (Miles performed with APP many times), but I just now got around to truly discovering him. I'll be buying his albums soon!
'Music' was a massive UK hit in the 70's, I like the big keyboards / orchestral part of the song, reminds me of the big instrumental part of Richard Harris 'McCarther Park' or Mason Williams 'Classical Gas'.
This song brings back a lot of good memories for me. As well as being a great, "epic" song it was playing constantly in the common room on one of the summer school cruises. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I am sorry, it's the little evil side of me stuck on good sound quality which is a crucial factor in everything, erm...musical
imo. Don't bother with it, i know only Steven will probably sympathize!

Yeah, it's excellent so far. I just hope they don't screw up Mahler 8, the 'Symphony of a Thousand.' With such massive musical forces and all the stress Gergiev must be facing to get all these recorded and sold within a year or two, I imagine it must be incredibly easy for something to go awry, be it late, missed, or cracked notes, something lost in or wrong with the interpretation, etc.
