NP: Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, Op. 37 (1979)...Miklos Rozsa
This was his last orchestral work and a good one. It reminds me of Bartok dark and brooding in nature.listen to more classical music! -

Back In Black AC/DC
Not a duff song on the whole album. Me and a mate are planning on riding around Australia (Charley & Ewan style), and this is definitely an album I want to listen to on the journey. -

NP : ARE YOU EXPERIENCED - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Brilliant! The word Hendrix and genius truly go together.
Eric Clapton recounts a story where he realised he wasn't guitar god anymore after hearing Jimi play live for the first time, he says he tried over and over again to light a cigarette but couldn't because his hands were shaking too much.
I enjoyed playing this so much yesterday that I just had to play it again, and great for dusting last nights hangover

The A major violin sonata by Johannes Brahms. I just got this recording yesterday with Itzhak Perlman and Vladimir Ashkenazy playing all three of the Brahms sonatas. Having made a previous aquaintance to the Mutter/Weissenberg recording, this one is much warmer, dominated by slower tempos where both players exersize a very liberal approach to rubato - something only the very best of musicians are able to pull off succesfully! While the Mutter/Weissenberg recording is more "fresh" and youthful in terms of choice of tempo and technical "bravura", Perlman/Ashkenazy are two very laidback and accomplished gentleman consumed with a mutual enjoyement of the deep lyricalism evident in Brahms' masterpiece. It is especially the slow movement that benefits from this approach - which is the finest rendition of the movement I've ever heard! -
