Nice to say "i told you so" wink Beautiful, breathtaking stuff. If you watch the score's usage within the film, you'll admire it even more, i am sure.

One of the most intelligent and heartfelt blends of dramatic, heavily thematic music with chilling passages.

Horner from 1944-1996 really did no wrong... one exception being Jade.

What do you think his best score from 1944 is Erik? biggrin

IMO Legends of the Fall...one of the first scores I fell in love with, and in my top 3 Horner list (with Apollo 13 and The Perfect Storm).

Legends of the Fall is one of my favourites too. Apollo 13 is very, very fine (and the promo is essential to fully enjoy it).

Neither of those is my favourite Horner though...

Because Tom had a lot to say about the matter of new threads. I thought I'd give him a gift. Was that... not obvious?

    Ah, 'The Gift'!

That's one score where I wouldn't mind another 10 minutes on the album. (However it is a mercifully short-and-to-the-point kind of album.)

It's a wonderful album, but I certainly wouldn't mind it being a little longer either. I've watched the film several times (I guess I'm the only person in the world who has) and don't recall much about the missing stuff, but it's one of those albums which always leaves me wanting more. (Frankly, a much better situation than albums which leave me wanting less.)

For some reason it's a film that fascinates me. Not sure why but I love the story and I love the idea of the characters worse fears coming to life. Solaris also fascinates me for the exact same reasons. But what Solaris doesn't have is Goldenthal's brilliant score. wink

Ya, me too. Another wicked score for that film as well. Quite possibly one of Kamen's most interesting and original works.

NP: Warriors of Virtue (Don Davis)

I love it. Sure, it's Davis regurgitating Horner -- but it's got enough interesting changes to make it worthwhile. The Denver Symphony Orchestra and Chorus did a great job performing the score, it sounds just as good as any of the union or London ensembles.

Well, you know, much as I like Goldenthal's SPHERE score, it doesn't quite say 'New Age Love Story' the way Cliff Martinez does for SOLARIS. wink

I like the parts of the SPHERE film I've seen, actually. I haven't ever seen the ending, unfortunately.
