My first advice is to myself...spell it right...Appalchian Trail.

My second advice is that I don't have much as I've not done it ( a friend of mine did it and it took him 6 months...I presume you'll just do a bit of it? ) , watch out for bears? Learn the lyrics of Laurel & Hardy's On The Trail of The Lonesome Pine? Make sure you take a mate with you....you never know when you might have to eat him?

    EDIT to add:-

    Appalachian Trail rolleyes shame

Once again no one I know wants to go and see Terminator! And considering it's Orange Wednesdays I think my chances of seeing this movie with someone have actually disappeared!

Let me state it this way: I found the music just as exciting as I enjoyed watching the film.

Have you read Bill Bryson's book about hiking it? Hilariously funny.

That is a very good book, indeed. I read two other books by Bryson, one about the USA and one about England, both were funny, too.

    Terminator: Salvation (Round 2)

Solidifying my opinion after I first watched it last week. Great film. God bless McG.

  5. THE UNBORN

What looked like a decent scary picture when I downloaded the trailer, is nothing but another sorry excuse of a horror movie.

Oh sure, it was scary during the first minutes but after a while, I watched it without any emotional connection to the characters whatsoever. Even what looked like a goddamn brilliant (Exorcist) piece of horror (aka the crawling man) is so lame, it doesn' scare at all. Some effective dribble all the same, it doesn't change the fact this movie is weak weak weak

    4 out of 10
I don't know why I rate it this high, but I feel this is the right rating

    The Thin Red Line

My second viewing after a few years.
A much better experience not being at a party. beer
Wonderful scenery, acting, and a well executed score by Zimmer. I can't believe I said that. wink
The philosophical dabble gets long after a while, but it is very interesting being able to step into the heads of the soldiers.

Watching it really makes me want to go to the pacific.

Yeah face-palm-mt, quite vague. I agree.
I was at a party a few years ago, and me and a group of friends were watching the film. Not exactly a film for that particular setting. I suppose we were not in the mood for philosophical preaching, but instead we just wanted to watch an exciting WWII film with battle scenes. The majority of the time we were laughing at the rather retarded expressions that one actor was making. wink

However, upon a second viewing, I was more in the mood and was able to watch it in piece in quite. A beautiful film.

DEFINITELY not the film to see with a company, and especially at a party!

    KNOWING

I still don't know what to think of this movie exactly. I wouldn't watch it again, that's for sure, since it is very depressing. It is like it was put together from War of the Worlds, X-files, and some Shyamalan movies. The ending was not quite obvious, it could be either interpreted in a religious sense or a in a science-fiction sense. But overall I liked the ending of the film, it was not the usual Hollywood-ending.

    AUSTRALIA

This unashamedly romantic romp doesn't actually seem to be able to decide what it wants to be, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at its two leads, Huge Action (Hugh Jackman) and Nicole Kindling (thin and wooden). The result plays out more like a tourism ad for Northern Territory than a celluloid jukebox of Luhrmann's cinematic passions but nevertheless, this sumptuously shot and flagrantly romantic epic is quite pleasing.

I'm not Australian, but I thought it was a fun film. The film combines Australian scenery, Aborigines, WWII, cattle droving... I'm there! haha
  6. I've seen AUSTRALIA. Didn't particularly like it. The second half was especially boring.
