I try Erik, but Ottman rarely delivers as far as i am considered.

I'm right there with ya my man! But there's always hope. I have hope for Brian Tyler, Tyler Bates, Ramin Djawadi, etc.

I do not think it is fair at all to list Brian Tyler along with Tyler Bates and Ramin Djawadi....

I list him with those guys because those two rarely if ever satisfy me with there music. Tyler is the better composer but I can't say that I EVER look forward to a Tyler, Bates, Djawadi score because 99% of the time I'm left disappointed. Actually, I can say I'm disappointed because they always deliver what I expect from them... unremarkable film music.

I do agree with Erik. Personally I've been seriously underwhelmed by Tyler after such a promising start where I thought he was the begining of something special.

Earlier this summer, composer John Ottman was at Abbey Road Studios to record his score for the new computer-animated feature, Astro Boy, based on the hit Japanese anime series. ScoringSessions.com is excited to bring our readers the exclusive look at the scoring session, courtesy of our correspondent in Europe!

Superman Returns is mega-failure. The rest are good.

I was so relieved it captured so many themes of Williams, plus a couple of decent ones of Ottman
Hence the reason why I rate it that high

The main problem with Superman Returns is the Williams stuff. It takes a brave man to put his own music up against John Williams and expect to come out of it without egg on his face. Ottman must therefore be a brave man; but is one with egg on his face.

I guess he did the same with Mancini in X-Men 2. There are lessons to be learned.

I'm trying to figure out what X-Men 2 has got to do with Mancini? I can only presume you were thinking Lifeforce wink
