Perhaps, but I think No.3 is an example of Darwinism.

Number two shows a great sense of synchronism though. Oh, and number five....ouch.

I think the third one is pretty horrible. He's having his hand torn to shreds. I don't understand how people can find that funny.

I'm wondering if that video is linked to the pic D showed a few days ago of a crocodile with a hand in it's mouth?

Can you find that pic again D?

  4. He was not merely hitting it, more like slapping it. You do that to a dog, it bites. The outcome is only logical.

I personally find these animal shows distasteful. But I feel no glee watching another human being being torn to shreds. I think it's rather sickening to sync this video to MP's "Always look on the bright side of life". There's something medieval about people enjoying seeing other people being maimed horrifically, no matter what their crimes were.

  8. What goes around comes around. You do stupid things, you get punished. That's how it's supposed to be anyway.

Actually as far as I recall they slap it to desentisize it. He doesn't slap it to provoke it. The hand trick only works after they've slapped it.

I dislike making wild animals do tricks like this, but considering the extremely small risks involved, we're not talking stupidity here. These people have done these tricks their entire lives. It's probably more dangerous to work in a sawmill.

  10. Tell that to the croc to not feel provoked. If nature intended to have that croc's nose desentisized, it would've been that way.

Indeed, there are always exceptions. The trick only works 99,99999% of the time.

true, but the sawmill won't accidentally attack you, if you're careful (or you'll have to be in the Final Destination movies)
if you're doing something with an entity that can react, you're playing with fire

You know, all the manuals and logic notwithstanding, doesn't "don't slap a wild animal, ESPECIALLY with a lizard brain that will ACTUALLY snap at ANYTHING" kinda make sense?

And doesn't it ALSO make sense that if you DO, chances are that you WILL get something rather vital torn off, given that these are not actually cute little fluffy bunny rabbits doing tricks?

To quote a documentary film maker: "what did he THINK was gonna happen?"

(And incidentally, these "incidents" happen time and again, especially with nigh-untrainable animals like reptiles.
Honestly. I have no sympathy at all.)

Indeed, wild animals are unpredictable. There are always risks involved. If the animal trainers find the risks acceptable, just as a sawmill worker finds the risks of accidents acceptable, then they have made informed decisions. I don't know exactly how big the risks are, but I know that people work with the crocodiles their whole lifetime without getting hurt. If that's possible, the risks are obviously very small, and the career decision isn't based on stupidity.

Indeed. So does "don't climb a mountain" and "don't jump out of an airplane". Makes perfectly sense.

Skilled professionals can minimize the risks of these senseless and crazy acts so much though, that they'd probably be in more danger driving their cars to work than when they're performing their stunts.

Still, accidents happen, no matter how skilled you are.
