NP: Speaking Of Now - Pat Metheny Group

    Superb.

Tim, did you know there's a new Pat Metheny album (solo, I think) coming out next week called Orchestration?

    No, I didn't!? cool

Also, I like 'Speaking of Now' but I need to listen to it more.

Thank you for the link Lee. Orchestrion sounds like a very interesting project to say the least.

    Pat explains the process here:

Ah, great stuff. My master's teacher is a big Beatles / Queen loonie as he practically grew up with that music and of course the culture of the eras surrounding it. Every semester we give projects to the students of Musicology in which they have to enter the studio, learn the basics of our console, mics, and recording, find musicians (or perform themselves) and perform, record live, edit and mix on analogue professional tape recorder and digital pro tools hd system, a song by either Beatles or Queen! Fun times.
