Could you imagine what it would be like if it snowed in San Diego
The hearty Tundra people laugh at the 16" inches of snow we have, calling it a mere dusting, yikes!

Radio 2's The People's Classical Chart.
O' Fortuna from Carl Orff's Camina Burana is the most widely heard piece since records began.
"O Fortuna which has also featured in horror film The Omen and Old Spice after shave ads, topped a list of the most played classical recordings of the past 75 years'*
Will. They. Never. Learn.

The Sunday Times does a weekly column by a "celebrity" who talks about a particular piece of music and why they love it so much. A couple of years ago someone (I forget who) wrote about Carmina Burana, and spent the whole article talking about its use in The Omen! He said something like "the great Hollywood composer Jerry Goldsmith adapted his whole score from the Orff piece" and then went through it, scene by scene, talking about how Carmina Burana enhanced the film! Very odd indeed. Sure I linked to it at the time. -

Yeah, I do seem to remember reading that post James. As we know, Stravinsky is a far more influential factor in Goldsmith's score than Orff's piece. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Indeed. It's nothing like the Orff piece at all, but VERY like Stravinsky. (Was Carmina Burana used in the trailer? Is that what gets everyone confused?) -

I think it's a bit like The Sun, only without the sense of humour. Wouldn't buy either of them, but they're not in the same league as The Daily Mail when it comes to these things. -

Not annoying but saddening to see how so few people now post at Moviemusic.com, Peter K's board was always one of the friendlier forums with some fine people posting there, many of whom frequent here. Sometimes the forum can go for days without a single reply and all the off topic subjects have sank without trace.
Sad

I haven't been over there in several years, actually. I used to hang out there a lot in the late 90's and early 2000's, especially the period when FSM was down. Sorry to hear that the activity has subsided.I am extremely serious. -
