Hm. I just went from 3 spoons about 6,7 years ago to .5 (or 1, if it's a big mug, and then only with coffee).
Can't really imagine going without (I love sweet! lick )

Honestly Martijn, believe me, at first it's a struggle but give it some weeks and you'll never return to sugar in your tea, in fact it'll taste discusting.

    FACT!

Oddly, with coffee I don't mind it with or without unless it's some extremely strong bitter blend then I DO need the sugar.

You love Vaughan Williams and Sherlock Holmes and don't drink tea? spin

Mind you, you don't compose symphonies, solve crimes and take opium and cocaine either wink

I'm the other way round. I used to have sugar in coffee but one day suddenly changed to not having it (can't remember why) and now I just can't drink it if there's any sugar in it. I also used to have it black and now hate that as well.

With tea, I can take or leave sugar (don't really mind either way) and like a little bit of milk.

I'm far fussier with coffee (where I'm a bit of a snob - only like really nice coffee) than tea, where I'll take pretty much anything. Most people seem to be the other way round.

I'm a snob with tea and coffee to be honest. Once you've had the good stuff, you don't want anything else.

Indeed. I hate visiting people's houses who only have cheap coffee.

Me too. I also hate a reasonable propotion of people who have expensive coffee. While they are clearly going to be nicer, better people in general, many of them still have deep flaws.

If you came to mine and Mel is here you would get a choice selection of 'real' coffee.

If it's just me here it'll be nescafe like it or lump it.

I'm more poncey with tea, I have to have expensive brands like Twinnings and such, I can't stand PG and the like.

p.s. James, yer killin' me! biggrin

I don't drink coffee. Tons of milk at breakfast, during the day lots of water and at the end ... euhm, water or sometimes tea. During the weekend the latter is replaced by Looza ACE or some Belgian beer.

I'm a snob when it comes to beer. There's only Belgian.

Never had opium. Did solve a couple of crimes when I was in retail. I would love to write a symphony and you never know that it might not happen.

I gave up sugar in tea about 20 years ago ( I used to have 2-3 tea spoons ), it's an odd thing, once you give up sugar you can never go back, even the tiniest amount in my tea and I can taste it and it's sickly and I have to throw it away.

I know what you mean, Tim. I gave up sugar in my tea many years ago as well - and sprinkling sugar on cereal - and now it tastes horrible with sugar.

But, then again, having a sickly sweet cake or pastry with tea? lick
