Astro Boy - John Ottman
I have to say it... Ottman has written a score which is not bad!
But....is it good? Is "not bad" good enough?Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

"Not bad" is the highest praise I've ever given to an Ottman score. I'm now on my second listen and would say it definitely crosses the border into "good" from time to time. -

NP: Williams Conducts Williams. Star Wars Compilation
I bought this one. I used to think it was pretty good. Being heard the RCA and the Fox cd's, i have to say the suite arrengements from this compilations are not as good as the originals ones. In fact, "asteroid Field" is dissapointing. -

Interesting.
It's really quite old-fashioned. A Williams-style superhero score. Not Williams quality, of course, but not bad. A few unfortunate synths from time to time, otherwise I am enjoying it. -

It's Ok. An uneven score... but that's par for the course with Ottman... but I like the theme especially when featured in the impressive end credit suite!

NP: Turtle: The Incredible Journey - Henning Lohner
Lovely themes and lovely orchestral pieces, both rousing and soothing. Not as great as George Fenton's brilliant documentary scores but it's still very, very good. Highly recommended. I'd have loved to have this on CD though, pity. -

Pope Joan by Marcel Barsotti, Morricone's Baaria and Dario Marianelli's AGORA are my 3 favorite scores of the year so far. So much lyricism, beauty, themes and melody. Very impressed by the work of these gentlemen this year.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

To equalise things here, I will play 7 times Nightmare before Christmas. Because it is worth it more than any other score that is mentioned today (and earlier) in this topic!Kazoo
