Ladies in Lavender... Nigel Hess/Joshua Bell This is a very lovely easy to listen to score. What is funny is that I have the mute on the television watching the World Series.

NP:Happy Feet (John Powell)
Do you remember my obsession 3 years ago with this score????
Fun food Storm (this final choral voices with bells!!!)-Killer walles- the Alien ships- In the Zoo COMBO!
While Horton Hears a Who is a better listening experience , Happy Feet remains Powell's most mature and personal of all his animation scores.
And the movie is a pure masterpice! -

House of Cards - Horner
Well, I have never even heard about this movie and its score but the latter is quite good. There are some really touching melodies in this score and some not-so-memorable tracks as well. It's one of those Horner scores that demand multiple listens to fully appreciate it because it lacks those instantly memorable sweeping Horner themes but as an emotional, intimate Horner it really is good. I am glad I bought it based on the soundclips because the album has much more to offer. -

NP: Desert Flower - Martin Todsharow
I came across this score whilst browsing through Amazon's mp3 releases and was immediately attracted to it's small-scale nature.
I'm not sure it's a film I'm likely to see: "...the autobiography of a Somalian nomad circumcised at 5, sold in marriage at 13, who became an American supermodel and is now at the age of 38, the UN spokeswoman against circumcision...", but the score is one that I'd recommend to check out:

Yeah, intimate, emotional and touching describe this off-beat little score very aptly, imo. Loved it too, very moody.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

NP Ronin (Elia Cmiral)
Very good score for one of the best movies made in the 90´s. Oh man this main theme. I hear the first couple of notes and I inmediately see Robert de Niro and Jean Reno in the streets of Paris where the film begins. Its final rendition ("Good Knowing You") is sublime.
Sam (De Niro): Whenever there is any doubt, there is no doubt. That's the first thing they teach you.
Vincent (Reno): Who taught you?
Sam: I don't remember. That's the second thing they teach you.

I haven't played this score in a really long time, so today was like a first listening all over again. It's very good. I don't know why it got overlooked for so long. -

That main theme is gorgeous, the duduk-driven melody is one of the most prominent modern film music themes i always have in my mind!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

JESPER KYD - Assasin's Creed II
Very impressive turn for the already very promising composer, in this Kyd meets Clint Mansell guitar-driven melodic score. At large parts it sounds like a very inspired and more modern re-take on THE FOUNTAIN (which has obviously acted as a great inspiration for this here) and it's wholly entertaining, even in the long 2CD running time. There's even some Vangelis in here ("Home in Florence" for instance) or even JNH ("leonardo's inventions part1") in this wholly captivating and pleasant experience. Recommended.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

A lovely, lush and at times quite eclesiastic soundtrack.
Beautifully romantic at all times, though.
