Even though I got it instantly because I'm just that awesome (and modest), the spoiler tags spoil it for me - it's far too tempting to highlight them if I don't know the answer!dizzy

So, should I upload the next one since I was first to identify the last?

    Sorry Thomas.

When I look for reviews I either use www.filmmuziek.be/search.cgi or Google. I can't be bothered to look through sites individually, so that's why I only use search engines. I once recommended to Bregt that he'd get maintitles on that filmmuziek search list, but it hasn't happened.

Glad to hear you've reviewed it though. I shall read it immediately.

    Go ahead, James.

The answer was Avatar btw, for anyone who didn't look at the spoilers. It's my favourite moment of the long "War" cue. Thought everyone would have the album, since it's one of the most discussed scores ever.

Not a favourite score of mine, but it does have a few neat moments I enjoy.

Indeed. punk It has some not so interesting underscore, but it's also crammed with excellent highlights. I can imagine that one could make one hell of a homemade suite out of it.

Btw, I would be reading your reviews regularly if maintitles were on that filmmuziek search thing, since I use that search daily. I'm not sure how many use it, but I can imagine you might get alot more readers if maintitles get on that search engine. Bregt once told me that his relationship with the filmmuziek owner wasn't the best, so perhaps that's why he didn't get it done.

more or less, let's just say I don't see it happening really soon

just follow my advice, always check out MainTitles first, and if there isn't a review here, then go to the filmmuziek page, okay? wink

    ROUND 4

Since no one guessed the last one I've uploaded another clip. This time an easy one. I think people will guess it quickly.

Haha. I should be embarrassed that I didn't know this one. I've listened to very few scores of 2009. I would have guessed one of the MV/RCP folks for this one.

You were one of my main hopes, actually! It's by a very, very famous film composer but not one of his better-known scores (it's not that old though).

Ahh. Might as well try a composer guess then. This was my first thought:
Marianelli?
If wrong, I shall give it a more careful listen tomorrow, and might try another guess.

I'm stupid. dizzy I have no idea what any of these themes are (film music, you say? is that like music in film?)?

However, that last theme was very beautiful, Southall.

No, not him. I thought this guy was about the most instantly-recognisable film composer there's ever been (at least, his only serious rival is Rozsa). Evidently not!

I loved the clip James, I haven't a clue what it is but it does have a
Maurice Jarre
vibe to it!? I'll stick my neck out and say that's who the composer is but I've no idea what film it's from?

While the piece is lovely, I don't recognize any unique style. Perhaps it's a composer I'm not familiar with enough.
