    Mario and I have plans to go again, as part of a road trip by car through Extremadura. Who's joining?

    Anyway, here's an exiting new concert announced, set up by Mikael. punk
    On Sunday, closing day of the Festival, all attendees will have the possibility to enjoy an unprecedented choral event within our Festival, the "Choir Adventure Concert", with the Ziryab Choir performing major film music choral themes.

    This year as a novelty, the Festival will offer all attendees, and people who wish to buy a ticket separately, a Choral Concert that will feature many of the most famous themes of film choral music.

    The ensemble that will perform in the concert, once again, will be the Ziryab Choir, after the huge success achieved by their participation in the symphonic concerts of past editions.

    This initiative stems from producer Mikael Carlsson, who along with the Organization of our Festival has managed to bring forward the idea of organizing an event of this kind in the beautiful setting of our Festival.
    The efforts and arrangements being made by Carlsson, always associated with the successful record production for Movie Score Media, anticipate very promising results for what surely will be an "unforgettable choral experience”.

    Below the "Preliminary Program" can be found which, as such, may still undergo some changes, modifications, reduction or expansion of the repertoire.

    The organization of the Festival sincerely hopes that this new event, will delight all attendees and will bring choral music closer to an audience normally more adept to symphonic orchestral music.

    PRELIMINARY PROGRAM:

    * Alice in Wonderland (Danny Elfman)
    * Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (John Williams)
    * Empire of the Sun (John Williams)
    * No-Do (Alfons Conde)
    * Behind Enemy Lines (Don Davis)
    * Miracle at 34th Street (Bruce Broughton)
    * Salem's Lot (Christopher Gordon)
    * Kingdom of Heaven (Harry Gregson-Williams)
    * Absolute Truth (Debbie Wiseman)
    * The Lion in Winter (John Barry)

    Hey Bregt, great to see you and Mario are planning to join the festival again! punk beer

    Hope the others do the same! Anthony? Bob? Basil?

    About the new concert, I was about to post it, but you've beaten me to it wink It looks really good, the Ziryab Choir is a magnificent choir ensemble. I'm glad Mikael Carlsson is involved with the organisation of the festival after the experience from last year.

    Regarding the bus thing, I have no news yet, but I assume there will be, as last year it was a success. Still, no official confirmation yet.

    PS Bregt......if Andalusia seemed hot to you.....wait until you meet Extremadura. Trust me, buy a portable air conditioning system (or bring your camelback) tongue

    biggrin

    (Don't say I didn't warn you).

    By the way, there will be three concerts this year:

    Friday, July 22 -> Symphonic concert (Place: Plaza Vázquez de Molina)
    Saturday, July 23 -> Symphonic concert (as usual, at the Hospital de Santiago)
    Sunday, July 24 -> Closure concert, 'Choir Adventure Concert' (place TBA).

    Jordi and I are already registered for the festival. Alex is currently living in London with his girlfriend (lucky bastard!), but he told me he won't miss the festival, so count on the three of us.

    I like road trips, but no way I would ever take one through that district in the middle of friggin' July. Best of luck, Bregt! You need it. smile

    After my travelling companion got a girlfriend and ditched our summer travelling plan, I'm not quite sure what will happen. I only have the Riga trip in June and the usual summer holidays at our island in Norway and summer house in Denmark. There are many film music events I'd like to attend this year, like the Williams concert in New York in October.
    I am extremely serious.

    True, and it's one of my least favourite travel destinations because of it. Plus, I was there in March, I think, and it wasn't THAT hot.

    Why is it impossible to travel with friends and their girlfriends?

    Good question. Guess I would be a bit of a third wheel, esp. with just me, him and his girlfriend. Especially since we had planned a road trip. But hey, it happens in American teen movies, so why not? wink

    It's certainly a possibility! My friend returns from university for the Easter break this weekend so we'll be able to discuss our Summer travel plans in a little more detail. I'd definitely be eager to go if there's the potential for a decent Maintitles.net meeting.

    Indeed!

    Besides, nights aren't that hot, and it's where MOST of the action takes place! And when ALL the beers are taken care of. During daytime, you always have the swimming pool. I can't wait.
