Entertaining interviews. I hadn't seen the 2nd one before. Just a shame they are so short and that O'Reilly does most of the talking.

You know, it's a shame that some people think they need their religion for moral guidance and they can't be moral beings without religion...

I know
That why I changed 'people' to 'some people'.
But you would be amazed how many parents choose a religious school for their children instead of a public school (while they are not religious themself!) because they think more values will be taught in the religious schools than in the public school.
It's really a misunderstanding that non-religious life views or personal individual life views don't have values and 'a moral compass', as Dawkins calls it in the interview. -

Religions generally seek to make people entirely dependant on them. Christianity for instance teaches that people are worthless sinners and that they are nothing without God. It teaches that one can only feel fulfilled and happy, that one can only be moral and a good person for accepting the claims and that one is a fool deserving to be tortured for eternity if one rejects them.
Luckily many modern christians realize the falsity of these ideas, especially if they have non-religious friends, where they quickly realize that atheists are just as decent and caring individuals as everyone else. In very religious circles these ideas tend to be deeply ingrained and pronounced though, and you come across them nearly everytime you try to engage in a debate about religion with an american christian.

And what's more amazing is that large structures like that -and therefore life- exist thanks to tiny (and I mean tiny) quantum fluctuations in the initial stages of Inflation.

When it comes to sex, some female ducks have taken "no" to a new level. They have evolved vaginas with clockwise spirals that keep out the oppositely spiraled penises of undesirable males, scientists have discovered.
When the female wishes to say "yes," she has some tricks that make it easier for her preferred mate to slip his corkscrew-shaped penis easily inside and achieve fertilization.

Oh that's really interesting study!
Actually this kind of study has been one of the hot topics in the field of evolutional ecology/biology. One of the members at my lab is also studying about it, though she's using insects which are not so "graphic"

The insect world is super creepy. Those parasitoid wasps especially. There are some youtube videos of them that are truly mind blowing,
And as for the duck stuff there are videos...
