He he....The Chemical Brothers as discovery of the year!! biggrin
    I am extremely serious.
  1. I must say, somehow I was hoping for something more of Zimmer, but I absolutely love the diversity of all the selections. I can totally live with this cheesy

Fair enough I'd say regarding film scoring.

Alex Heffes on the other hand has been around for awhile now.

"The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons. Originating in London in 1991, along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, and fellow acts, they were pioneers at bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture."

Well if they win they're going to shout a big "fuck you" i think lol
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I just learned from the press agency that there will no possibility for a one-on-one interview with any of the composers. That was disappointing, but I'll bring a dictaphone just in case. I also got a special invitation to a "meet & greet" at the Mariott hotel, but I assume I was already signed on for this through the MT/SST collective invitation above?

I also learned there will be a Giorgio Moroder party at the Vooruit on Friday evening, which would be fun to attend (even though Moroder won't be there himself).
    I am extremely serious.

What an odd event this seems to be turning out to be.
"Show up and pay heaps for drinks and music and then piss off".
    confused

It seems to be more and more geared towards casual festival goers and less and less towards proper fans.

Drinks? Will there be drinks this year? Has this been confirmed?

If you pay heaps, I'm sure there are drinks.

(If not, I think I have just found a monumentally lucrative business model).

Well, it's not always been that way - a few years ago, there weren't any drinks present. At all. Because they weren't allowed, in that venue. They said.

So, basically, what you're saying, is that if an enterprising your man would stand outside aforementioned venue with a small cart with soft drinks, he might make quite the killing?

What are you saying Martijn? I'm not following.

There's a press and fan moment on Saturday morning, and there will be drinks and coffee.

In the evening is the concert, where you can buy drinks.

Then it ends, and there's a party.

Thor, yes that's the meeting you are already part of, but it's no deal to change.

I will be attending the WSA on saturday as well, I just started a new job and wasn't sure I could get that weekend off but as things are looking out I'll be able to attend on saturday.

Bregt, can you add me to the list for the meet and greet on saturday please?

I'd also like to join you guys again for dinner, had fun last year smile
  3. I am so looking forward to this event. Meeting the members of MainTitles and so far the biggest StreamingSoundTracks Gathering in the SST history.
I and many others will arrive on friday afternoon/evening and depart on sunday.

We hopefully also have some surprises for the diner.

    Me too!

On Friday, we might visit a brewery in the afternoon, and in the evening we will go out in Ghent. We'll have to exchange cells in order to meet and all that stuff.

I still have a ticket left because someone can't be there. It's a seat next to a lot of MT people, ad it's 47EUR. Let me know if you want one.

    Wow!

23 minutes...How long is going to be Zimmer's concert? any chance to play any other score since inception is 20 minutes long?

    Thanks, Bregt.

except the Driving Miss Daisy cue, I doubt it. the festival doesn't do encores.
except last year but that was because it was the 10th anniversary

so, Driving Miss Daisy and Inception it normally is of Zimmer

Not sure yet how this weekend will be filled up with activities...

I guess I'm too late for the meet & greet (not my kind of thing anyway) so I'm not sure it will be useful to hang around near the Marriott Hotel around that time. Perhaps we go sightseeing and just do the concert in the evening.

What restaurant do you all gather? That could be fun to do together anyway.
I still have to book hotel or B&B, will do so this week.

Hey Bregje, I can include you in the M&G if you want? It's a nice thing. smile

In the afternoon, I think it would be cool to visit the Gravensteen castle with the people who want. I will send details and a programme via e-mail later.

Can you still include me? I read somewhere that's it full.
I'm with my hubby, so that would make two or he waits outside and that would just be sad!
    wink

We did the Gravensteen last time (2007?) but it was nice so I wouldn't mind going again.

I'm thinking of trying the same B&B too, it was in the Patershol area, great! cheesy
