It's a shame more of Robertson's ( also known as Harry Robinson ) scores aren't available, he did some great work in a more traditional orchestral vein, particularly HAMMER studios. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Not surprisingly Harry Robinson, like an esteemed few of our favourite composers came from a pop background, under the name Lord Rockingham he had this UK # 1 hit in the late 50's, some of you might have heard it before...

For some reason I'm utterly incapable to fathom I'm totally confused with Digitmovies.

As for upcoming cd's, have you noticed how varese's now-ex (as i type that is) 'upcoming release' pages has vanished? For the past 3 weeks in only had rise of the guardians and another title (total of 2 cd's) and now it's completely gone, giving this message:

This will have limited appeal to many here but I've always loved this Harry Robertson score, infectious fun and catchy, love it and will have to order
Those who like their fantasy scores full of huge orchestras and mighty choirs should steer well clear
Amazingly this is quite a bit of good fun!

The Next Kritzerland is:
"Career" (Franz Waxman)
"Great score that most people probably have never heard, but it's aces, truly."
EDIT:
Later that day he added:
"And two more Waxmans coming, including one of my all-time favorites."The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Posted Wednesday at FSM between an FSM member and Stu Philips:
Keeping my fingers crossed that Intrada will show some love for the Buck Rogers scores next - a four volume set of those would be a dream come true, especially a complete edition of the pilot/film.
i second that !
maybe Mr. Phillips can bring some light to us
Mr. Phillips, Stu Phillips, to be precise, really can't shed any light on the BR situation... except to say that there are positive vibes (not the instrument), that something is "blowin' in the wind."

Just ordered Mancini's "Condorman". I sure love that Intrada-Disney deal. Maybe they will even release Lalo Schifrin's "Earth Star Voyager". That would be another dream come true. Celebrating this I will now play Barry's "The Black Hole". The very existence of that CD still seems like a dream!
Cheers!

Indeed Captain, I'd thought that the release of THE BLACK HOLE would never happen let alone a complete release. CONDORMAN is winging (
) it's way to me now, a great fun score.
With this new deal it's not inconceivable to imagine that Ron Goodwin's excellent ONE OF OUR DINOSAURS IS MISSING will get released. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Not a CD but a digital release.
Could this collection of Benny Hill songs be the greatest release of 2012?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Benny-Hill-Coll … mp;sr=1-97
Those not familiar with Benny Hill may want to start with track 4, "Ernie" - and then stop. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

On a more serious note, I might have considered buying this if it had included the instrumentals such as Yakkety Sax.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

That omission must be up there with the Adele/Skyfall débacle?
But, in the meantime whilst that omission is being put right in the Varese deluxe edition:

Just ordered "Conan the Barbarian" (Intrada). This is a bit of an extravaganza as I already own the wonderful re-recording from Tadlow. Anyway, this is an outstanding release, comparable to "The Black Hole". You thought it would never be possible due to lost tapes or inaccessible source meaterial.
That release has been anticipated for a long time. I believe it possible, that Intrada delayed this release for Tadlow's sake.
A splendid score such as this deserves to exist in my collection in both versions!
It's a great time to be a score collector!
Cheers!

Two things.
1. New from BEAT Records:
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/p … ;archive=0
2. Clues for the upcoming Quartet CD's:
"Guess who's coming to town!: Our three latest releases of the year will be announced shortly. Three decades are represented here: sixties, seventies and eighties... One of them won the Oscar, and other is part of an important and famous saga. Finally, a major symphonic score that will be represented in a 3CD box-set!!... The three are biggest surprises and we're really proud..."
"We will announce the three titles early next week. Grusin, Williams, Bernstein, DeVol are excellent choices, but none of them are represented here this time."The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -
