Awesome, excellent modern score, one of his best with "Rooftop" being one his most mature and heartfelt single compositions so far.

Sure, followed very close by the End Credits suite (even if all the score sounds like an extension of his work in "Spy Game").

What End Credits suite??? I thought there was just evil annoying rock music in the credits.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

I meant "The End" track. My mistake.

NP Pirates Suites (Hans Zimmer) - Aliens Vs Predator (Brian Tyler) - Medal of Honor Airborne (Michael Giacchino) - Lair (John Debney) - The Bourne Ultimatum (John Powell)

Last NP of the year for me, so a selection of tracks from those scores is a good way to finish this 2007.

Jordi I think that is an absolutely WONDERFUL selection.

I have to be at a party for a few hours around midnight but until then I'm listening to my favorite scores from 2007.... Transformers, Partition, Last Sin Eater, and At World's End is probably all I'll have time for.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

Oh brother. rolleyes It wasn't removed. Sarcasm really doesn't work on message boards, does it?

Jordi, the track wouldn't have been included on as part of my playlist if I didn't like it! Get it?

As for the rest of the suites... they are pretty good.... I guess. I haven't really played them that often.

NP: GHOSTS OF BERNARD HERRMANN - Bernard Herrmann / Stephan Oliva

Actually really good piano solo's of suites from some of Herrmann's most popular / best scores, by pianist Stephan Oliva. Vertigo is exceptionally well done.

I started the first day of the year with my favourite cue of 2007: Ragnar Sturlusson (and the couple of cues following on that) from The Golden Compass.

My head never hurts when I drink at least half a liter or a liter of water when know I'm a little drunk. Water solves all things.

I saw this listed at SAE the other day and was intrigued by it. Thanks for the comments.

NP: Battlestar Galactica Season 1 - Bear McCreary
First time I've ever heard any of this music. It rocks! The drums and the quality of their recording is simply amazing. My desk was rattling and there aren't even any speakers on my desk!

    NP:Water Horse

Today i want something quiter and charming.

Some stuff is gentle and the orchestrations works very well....but that's all what i like form it. it's not average, it's just average.

Newton howard still nows how use the synth, thought.

    NP : SILENCE!

Yes, even "silence" sounds loud and shouty today, I'm in a royal world of PAIN ( 'pain' being said in a Mr.T voice ) that was self inflicted.

I "think" I went to bed at around 9.00am this morning and got up at 3.00pm.....I've drank a lot off water but it hasn't done much except make me go to the loo a lot slant

I will NEVER drink alcohol again dizzy

Why is "The Minstrel Boy" from Black Hawk Down in Battlestar Galactica?
Well, not really, but it sounds almost exactly like it!

I must say though, the combination of Celtic elements and war drums throughout this score is quite fascinating and pleasant.

    NP:Close Encounters /Williams

Barry's Kidnapping is one of the best pieces ever penned by Williams.

The 12 minutes track is not bad either wink

PS: Is just me, or the famous "close" notes are pretty close to God's theme from Prince of Egypt?

    NP Partition (Brian Tyler)
In a serious Tyler mood lately. Today I want a more dramatic approach to his work, so this is perfect. I LOVE the theme we first hear in "The Crossing". Simply beautiful.

But the composition here is pretty complex!

The Road to El Dorado | John Powell & Hans Zimmer

One of my favourite 'uplifting' scores, it's absolutely bloody magnificent. Powell provides the best theme for the whole score IMO.
