    Major snoozfest

Snoozfest? Yeah maybe a couple of tracks in the last half but there's some interesting cues too.
I like it. Not Young's best score but not bad at all!

NP: Saturn 3 - Elmer Bernstein

After eating up Bernstein's Heavy Metal score over the past week I decided to replay his other sci-fi/fantasy classic. And yes they both contain the same lovely theme which is fine by me.
I might give old Space Hunter a spin next while I'm at it!

NP: Spy scores - casino Royale / M:i3 / Bourne Ultimatum

    Casino Royale

My favourite Bond score (Included the Barry ones).Because the movie, because the themes, because the electric guitars...

After the first impressive tracks, i didn't pay enough attention to the latter tracks. "death of aston Martin" or " Dirty martini"are pretty damn good!!!

I can't deny, it certainly is one enjoyable score and it has one of the best 'wowza!' opening cues in recent memory.

NP: I Am Legend - James Newton Howard

    punk

A very impressive score from Howard. The Pier is just out of this world.

    Indeed.
The last three trakcs are very close to the one you mention though (Reunited - I´m Sorry - I Am Legend / Epilogue).

One of the best scores I bought in 2007, very Barry'ish in parts and that's a good thang in my book! cool

^ This my friends is CLASSIC Jordi. Pisses all over the score when it first comes out but then later admits to not listening to OR paying attention the ENTIRE album... rolleyes and then praises it afterward.

Just into Flying Over Africa, a sumptuously gorgeous track very reminiscent of his work on The Last Valley.

There's you explaination right there. wink

Anyway, Zimmer's M:I2 as a film score it's a turd. So wrong it's beyond words. But surprisingly the music works very well away from the movie and is wonderful (minus a few cues) as a stand alone listen. Does that make sense?

    NP: Earthsea - Jeff Rona

I have the final track "Light Over Earthsea" in my MY FAVORITES iPod playlist but I don't think I've given this one a full spin. I like the first track so far... world music, ethnic percussion, celtic flavor, choir... not bad.

I didn't say I didn't listen the whole album. I said I listen always more the first tracks than the rest of the album...But there are a few cues in the latter half worth to listen. Sadly Casino Royale is a too long realease..

Whenever I listen to this CD the first track sets things up well for the rest. But it just disappoints and never lives up to that first track (save for 1-2 isolated cues).

Bah! The release is actually just fine. And if you actually read my post you would have seen that I said...

I found it to be a satisfactory and easy going listen. While the first track is indeed impressive and sets the rest of the score up to be some epic... you are right that if you had expectations of something LARGER than of course you would be disappointed. I rather enjoyed the score and it will be one that I will return to again when looking for something relaxing to listen to.
