    Why not? It's a technically perfect in all aspects fantasy score and at the same time completely unoriginal. Serves for lots of Debney's work as well, especially the disgusting John William rip-offs of Seaquest QSV and LAIR, only the latter is being praised as a 'fun and putting-a-smile-on-my-face tribute, a homage to the great ones' while the poor ol' Eshkeri's of the world are being tossed for the same thing. I wonder why is that.

    Because Debney can do it with infinite more style, that's why. IMO.

    That's fair point indeed, although it all sounds the same to me and it surely doesn't a grant an excuse for praising; Anyway ..

    'Disgusting' is a bit of a strong word there D. They're obvious and blatant, yes.... but heck, I enjoy them.

    Eshkeri's score relies mostly on clichés whereas Debney's use of Williamseqsue music isn't what I would call cliché. That's the key difference for me at least.

    Not at all mate, when i play the first 10 (about) tracks of LAIR complete - especially the opening cue, i get shivers of disgust on how some people get away (and even praised) with exactly the same stuff others get lawsuits for; but then again, its 2nd half puts a smile on my face and i complete forget everything about it.

    Dark, agressive action score, with a typical Beltrami track to close the score, "The Future". punk

    I ejoyed far more the movie than the score.

    Anyway, "william's castle" and "the future" are pretty good tracks.

    Then Greeks must have a rather different view on what 'disgusting' is, because here it would certainly be too strong a word for describing music.

    Wow, I had this score highly underrated. Enjoying it from track one ´til the last. Very close, if not beter, to Beltrami´s own Terminator 3.

    Debney has not a strong voice. And this it's, at the same time, his voice. Ironic.

    Cuthroad Island = David Arnold (Yes, Erik, Yes...)

    Passion of Christ = Gabriel + Zimer

    DragonFly = Newon Howard

    LAir = John Williams

    Little Chiken = Powell

    ...

    Anyway, Few composers has 3 scores in my top 10.

    NP:Lair

    It is getting an official and "physical" realease?

    I want the complete in an officia realease, ala Empire Strikes back (No jokes , please)

    Mate, The Last temptation of Christ aside, The Passion of Christ is highly influenced for BHD and Zimmer Rymths.

    ....."Resurrection" is the most MV cue I ever heard since Mancina Left Media Ventures tongue

    And for my taste, too out of place for a movie like this.

    a) Arnold was hired for his splendid score for Stargate...So it's not so supid think When he was fired (becaue Harlin didn't like the theme)the filmakers wanted the same sound with a better theme. that's what Debney did.

    b) it's a very objective fact , the orchestrations, Specially the use of metals are very reminiscent to Arnold's Work. It's so objectve that even me, in the contrary side, could give me the reason.
