MARK MCKENZIE - the lost child (2000)
Man, this is SO my kind of music! Unstoppably romantic, heartfelt, piano-string led, delicate, natural. I just adore this man's music and it's only the first listens of those last 3 scores!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

NP: Ratatouille - Michael Giacchino
Getting the movie today, and am preparing to listen to these great cues in it for a much better listening experience!
You haven't seen the movie yet? You're in for a treat!
Yeah, it was a treat! I'm amazed how nicely each track fit in with the movie! There are some nice cues (mostly suspense and some "swing" type) missing (as always ) but I feel the bulk of it is on the album. Won't give my hopes up for an oscar promo version
Was I the only one who felt Remy was *cute*? -

No, it's cute.
Emile is more though.
And there is an expanded (complete unknown) cast & crew promo that I saw on ebay...so maybe one day... -

Whatever, my brain isn't functioning properly as I haven't eaten today.
I didn't want to put my money down on the promo as there wasn't a tracklisting or length, and the seller wouldn't reply to any questions. But check every so often, it may re-appear! -
- CommentTimeApr 15th 2008
Yeh, will keep checking for it. But gotta be careful on eBay!
NP: The Incredibles - Michael Giacchino
Since I got into the Giacchino vein today, I feel like continuing -

While I'd say Ratatouille is a much better score, I do enjoy The Incredibles a whole lot more. What do you think? -
- CommentTimeApr 15th 2008 edited
I liked both of them equally, actually. They're unique in their own ways, and both fit in well with the movies!
Listening to "Saving Metroville" from Incredibles right now, amazing stuff! -

NP: METROPOLIS (Huppertz)
One of the great scores! This really should be released. Thanks heavens that with silent films, one need not worry about ripping dialogue and sound effects with the music.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

Surely that also answers why a soundtrack never needed to be released. -

I don't know about that. I would have bought it.
Most of the people who'd care about the film probably wouldn't mind dropping the money on it.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

NP : LEGEND - Jerry Goldsmith
Yeap! The synths are annoying in various parts of this score, particularly in the choral excellence of 'The Unicorns' but I still feel this is minor quibbling as this score is one of JG's masterpieces and I too think it's brilliant! On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Good F__king Lord!
No, it's not. Yes, it sure is a loud action score (most action scores are) but it's not simply just noise. It's very musical, it's has a variety of incredible themes and it's actually very well written.
