    Envious, as usual.

It would be cool if I could make it there at some point, and you could show me/us around the premises. You seem to be doing it every year?

You don't get special privileges if you work there?

Yes I do, but only 'on site'. Think about it, if anyone like me who works there, was able to take a group of non-paying people on site there would be one hell of a lot of people trousering cash backhanders, once on site nobody is checking you for passes.

What I can do is get you into privileged back stage bars and hospitality areas as a guest of mine ( again, these areas are out of bounds to the punters ) but only when you are actually on site.

Ah yes, that's what I meant, of course. Not getting in for free!!

Then again, I see it's £200 for a festival pass, so it's out of the question for now. Maybe at a later date. I've yet to experience the "spending-the-night"-type festival.

Cool! I did that for a friend a few years ago, as I was his best man. The tandem skydive was a gift from the boys on his bachelor party.

It looked awesome, so I'm very envious!

  3. A day of mixed feelings.

Anne and I are celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary today. Still love her to bits and has been such a solid support over the last few months in particular.

We've already done a bit of birdwatching - at a place called Inner Marsh Farm on the Dee Estuary. And seen a couple of avocets. Lovely birds. Out for a family meal later tonight.

On the negative side, my mum is having her first round of chemotherapy for an invasive lymphoma on her face. She is terrified of the disease and the treatment. A big thanks to everyone who is at home taking care of her.

As I said, a day of mixed emotions.

  4. Thanks for the best wishes, guys.

I am keeping quiet about who is going to drive. I asked her out first all those years ago, so I'm hoping that that is going to go in my favour tonight!

  7. Thanks for all the positive comments. Really appreciated.

Back home now. I managed to avoid any driving and took advantage by having a couple of pints of Cheshire Cat. Food was excellent. Venison. Yum.

Speaking to mum later, so first round of chemotherapy hasn't completely knocked her flat. That's a definite positive.

  8. Mum had a reasonably comfortable day today. She is relieved and we are happy with her first session. Just another 5 sessions over the next 3-4 months.

  9. Thanks again everyone.

We are at the beach at Prestatyn at the moment with David and one of his friends. They are having a good time.

Me? I hate the beach with a passion that is almost unparalleled.
