Aaah! Have a great trip Thor! Stories, pics and all when you're back
Thanks....and vice-versa, I'll have to say! We most likely have to drop Cambodia/Angkor Wat due to shortage of time, but it'll be a neat trip nonetheless.
Shame about Cambodia etc but you'll still have a great time. Bon voyage Thor

You really don't appreciate the number of sync points most composers put into their music until you start matching the score on it's own to the movie yourself (with no sfx or dodgy editing).
Bravo John Powell!

I think this is one of the best examples of that! -

True, but I think that cue deliberately keeps itself busy so by sheer luck there appear to be more sync points then there actually are. -

Hmm, not sure about that. Every significant change that appears on screen is translated through the music. It's... mind boggling, to be able to write a complex piece of music like that, hit all those sync points and make it sound fucking amazing is the reason Davis is a GOD. -

My beer-drinking, womanizing flatmate asking for a bunch of Thomas Newman scores. The man has taste.

Very cool!
p.s. Top Gear is on in the background and the music playing is Jerry Goldsmith's Barnaby Jones theme followed by a track from Schifrin's Bullit

5 years!?
Mine's a similiar course to yours but a 3 year duration, as most BSc courses at uni are. Not sure I'll be doing a masters yet... I might even do a science course after I've done my music course if funds will let me. -

I know, but it's practically a bachelor and a master's degree already so when i'm done, i'll carry 2 master degrees, the latter more advanced and specialized than the first. Then, we'll see. There's a even a prospect for a phd but it's too early to say.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Well, at the current state of things dear Tom, i'd say we are not looking at money vs more money, but at a "there's a slight chance i'll be able to find a good stable job" VS "i'll most possibly find a good stable job"
