    31 is absolutely ancient!

Apparently the oldest ever cat was 37 years old ( 1967 - 2005 ) and lived in Austin, Texas.

Cats are prone to kidney problems ( keep an eye on whether they drink a lot of water ) and generally live to between 12-18 years average.

The cats I've had over the years have generally passed in that 17-18 range so I would say middle age is more 9-10.

Went to pick up my diploma yesterday.
Yep, properly finished: never have to set foot in that building again ever (and -rather to my surprise- I was informed I can carry a title now. W00t! My lfe's ambition has come to pass. Though obviously the title I coveted was Dictator For Life, but hey-ho. Gotta start small.)

Completely to my delight and surprise my friends and family turned up to wish me well! I didn't even know they knew (I was planning on doing a quick in-and-out. Just an administrative formality. But it turned out a bubbly-infested jubilee. smile Quite lovely.)

So, now I have a degree and a title, and will start rethinking my career next week.
I have three more months to go on my current contract, and while I'm pretty secure it'll be extended with three months again after that, I'm not sure I want that.

Got me some thinking to do.
    And some planning. cool

Are you sure, Thor, that the cat was 31 years old? Never heard of such an old cat! Standard age for most is sadly around 15 years.

Yup, here's the news article on him when he died i 2008 (well into his 31st year):

    Thanks, guys. kiss

I of course already knew and shared with you that I passed, but I guess it only really sank in now, that I'm holding this bit of paper. It does feel like a new baseline. (Not so much a new start...I'm a little to old for that wink ), but there suddenly is a sense of re-evaluation.
    New options.
All I need is just to think them through.

(Or it may just be a midlife crisis setting in. dizzy )
