Replaced the foam on my headphones over the weekend. Interesting that one friend I talked to laughed at me when I told him I spent $7.00 on doing this. His comment was you can buy a set of TDK earbuds for that price. My comment was I wouldn't sell my Grado SR60's for $200.00. I'm so grateful that I've invested in Klipsch, Grado, Macintosh, Tandberg, and others over the years. You get what you pay for. I've listened to some fairly good earbuds and my comment for the most part is shit in=shit out. I would say that I've got a minimum of 30,000 hours on my Grado's

  2. I may have found my first "freelance medical writing" assignment today. It's a 10 day project, and it could be the start of new chapter for me.

Catalonia bans bullfighting (the ban takes effect in January 2012)

The parliament of Catalonia has voted to ban bullfighting - the first region of mainland Spain to do so. The vote took place as the result of a petition brought to parliament, signed by 180,000 people who say the practice is barbaric and outdated.

    IT WAS ABOUT TIME!

So glad big media corporations are aware of this important advance.

I have to admit I was a bit concerned too, as every member of each party had the freedom to vote yes or no to the ban (there was not an order of the leader of the major parties, so to speak). Fortunately, after too many years, common sense has won the battle.

    Neat!

Last week, on the programme in Sevilla: bullfights with kid torrero's. shocked Whoever invented that, was quite a lunatic.

Does this ban also mean the end of bull shows etc?

    Great news! punk

When we saw the prices in Ubeda for the shows, I was afraid (since apparantly people were mad enough to pay these prices) Bull Fighting was way too popular in Spain to ever be banned in any region. So I didn't see this one coming! beer

Do you think there are good odds the other regions will indeed follow, now Catalonia seems to be leading?

It was interesting to see how high the prices went if you simply wanted to sit in the shade. Anyone for the 1200 euro party of 8 ticket?

I've heard some other regions (Madrid for instance) are starting to think it over. I really doubt they'll follow the example though. At least Catalonia has set a precedent (in mainland Spain I mean; in the Canary islands bullfighting was banned many years ago).
