I wanted to reply how much I enjoyed the movie version of 2000, but then I checked IMDB and there is only one film, the one from 2000! For some reason I expected this to be an older one...

I don't remember the music though, just the movie and Jenna Elfman and Edward Norton are great actors.

"Awkward" doesn't BEGIN to cover it...

NP: Angels In America - Thomas Newman
Could this be Newman's 'biggest'-sounding score?
At least it runs the complete gamut again from Newman's trademark slightly estranging melancholy to messianic to really huge action cues, with a REALLY big choir behind it. Very impressive, and very compelling. This one very much is a keeper: even the brief cues (and in true Newman fashion there are a lot of 'em, some as short as 45 seconds rolleyes ) work terribly well wedged between the longer ones.
Esotherical at points, melancholical at others, emotional EVERYWHERE.
    Very interesting.

    NP: Timeline - Jerry Goldsmith

Truly a grand and melodic treat, shame it wasn't used. The love theme is gorgeous too.

    cool

MARC SHAIMAN - the bucket list

Charmingly nostalgic, romantic jazzy sax-led score with beautifully soothing piano and strings, also enriched with some more classical-oriented touching and heavily melodic writing for string orchestra and piano (like "The Mountain" or the gorgeous Mark McKenzie-like "End Credits") . The perfect soundtrack for a romantic date or dinner, the perfect chill-out easy listen. Loving every note of it.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

    MARC SHAIMAN - Simon Birch

first listen........incredibly melodic and nostalgic. I just looooovee Shaiman's way of drifting you away through his simple but gorgeous themes and unstoppable flow.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  1. NP: Prince Caspian - The Videogame - Mark Griskey

Just the 4 extended clips from the article linked to elsewhere but what a great set of clips they are!!

    NP:Kingdom Of the Crystal Skull

"Spell of the Skull" is an splendid track. Old fashioned willliams sound. With this E.T sound, mixed with Minority report new sounding action stuff.

it's a not so obvious track like Jungle chase, but pretty brilliant.

This is just great. Hopefully it will give me the right energy and spirit I need today.

Next I will listen to the Indy scores to compare those, just like the movies!

A bit... certain tracks. But I still don't think it's as good as the previous three. But then again, I haven't seen the film so I will wait to give my finale judgment at the end of the week.

I think we will enjoy much more after to watch the movie.

I enjoy more now this score, but I have to forgett for what movie this score is composed, and I have to forgot the other 3 scores.

I don't hate it, but I can just about live with it. Anything worse than that (hey...let's not even mention Jango's Escape) and I'm out the door!

I love "the chase throught..". At least has some kind of rythm wich makes coherent the overal cue.

this doesn't happen in Indy 4 score.

The end of ''Kiss & Make Up'' from Mr. & Mrs. Smith is rhythm. This is just John Williams going:

''Ok, you 5 people all have bits of percussion. When I point to you, start playing. When I point at you again, stop''.

*point* *point* *point* *point* *point* *point* *point*

    ''Congratulations, here are your paychecks!''

(In short, I disagree. smile )

Damn! Williams must have had a serious bout of St. Vitus Dance doing all the random pointing that day!
