Nothing. Just my personal preference against electronic sound. The cue is not that bad anyway, so I might exaggerate a bit.

I kinda agree with them. All I regularly listen to now are the first 4 tracks, Club Nool, Dr. Larue, The Bridge Work and Horton Suite.

    Balto James Horner

Listening to garbage like Iron Man and Prince Caspian just makes scores like this all the more sweeter.

It's a little bit repetitive. The theme is gorgeous, but over used. The action stuff is terrific , when it appears, and Davis touch is very present.

NP: I don't think now is the bes time (Zimmer).

I wonder what Zimmer haters though about this track.

I find his best action track ever. All the main themes from Pirates of Caribbean are here.

Some of them probably hate it cos' it has "composed by Hans Zimmer" written on the cover wink

Only if it was in the chronological order of the movie, it would've been much better!

NP: Superman Returns - John Ottman

One of the best scores of 2006, IMO punk

Nah! Without the Superman themes the score is really bland... except for the new Luthor theme.

NP: Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull - John Williams

Just finishing off the "Finale" after my first listen - and I have to admit that I was clock watching towards the end. The CD just seemed too long with not enough there of interest. And what was of interest was the old Raiders March heard in the first and last cues. And I quite liked how Williams played around with the Raiders March towards the end of the "Finale".

I'm sure that people will recommend multiple listens for the score to grow on me but, at the moment, the thought of putting aside 75+ minutes isn't a happy thought!

You should probably just see the film first. While watching it, there were several themes I grew to love, while they didn't struck me like that on album. So, yeah, it grows on you wink

And, by the way, I also loved how the score was used in the film. I didn't think it was mixed too quiet at all, it's just right. And the careful way Williams places his themes, as opposed to the loose 'lets put this melody here' method of Zimmer during Pirates for example, is just great to notice again. How Irina's theme pops up, for instance, the moment her picture comes on screen. Such a rare thing nowadays.

    I knew it!!

No plans at present to see the movie - I never really got into Indy. I'll probably catch it on TV one Christmas. (Hope I can lay my hands on the music then.)

There's the Superman March near the end of the film, only that it isn't on the soundtrack. I got an unofficial version of it anyway wink

NP: King Arthur - Hans Zimmer

Though not his finest score, it certainly has good moments. Eg: I love the big choral action music in "Do you think I'm a Saxon?" and "Budget Meeting".

    NP - Kung Fu Panda - Zimmer/Powell

It's stupidly easy to tell who wrote what in most cases. All the Zimmer cues sound like Zimmer, containing all the deep string, heroic brass, and regularly heard chord progressions. The Powell ones sound like Powell, with the playful woodwinds and heavily Spanish-influenced timings.

Depending on who you prefer, certain parts of the score may bore, annoy, or excite you!

Oh good, I'm onto another Zimmer track... rolleyes tongue

And Jordi, you're right in guessing Zimmer did the longer tracks. tongue wink

Is it me, or is one of the themes just a varient on ''The Great Tree'' from Endurance?
