To a degree. 'Sacred Pool Of Tears' has some Powell in it.

The Powell ones sound like Powell, with the playful woodwinds and heavily Spanish-influenced timings.

    Mickey mousing?
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I noticed that towards the beginning, but then it turns back into Zimmer...

It's probably a case of lots of smaller cues put together in a big one, hence both sounds. But either way, it's EASY to tell who composed what.

Yes, but it's a lot more interesting than Horton. Think Endurance... (seriously!)

Ooh, it's more 'epic' sounding than Horton... but Horton still rates very high in my book. Powell saves the year again! kiss beer

And yes, Sacred Pool of tears seems to have the sound of both. Guess which I prefer. tongue

This score is actually freakin' awesome. I guess a good way to describe it would be what would have happenned if Powell scored the opening of Pirates 3. punk kiss

...and onto another Zimmer track... rolleyes

THERE IS SUCH A THING CALLED THE TREBLE CLEF! rolleyes

Agreed. A wee overstatement don't you think Steven? tongue kiss

For me, the Powell cues are a lot easier to get through. Zimmer does my head in again with his relentless noise during the middle parts. tongue

Quite a lot of action cues in this score which is quite a surprise! cool

One thing I must say I like is the cues that sound like Zimmer, but after listening more actually sound like the type of old-school stuff you'd hear from Powell... applause

Not for me it isn't. I've enjoyed Horton more than most scores this year, and Kung Fu panda looks like another one I'll enjoy for many moons to come.

Negative! The first half of the score is great, a lot of interesting stuff, but it seems to fade out towards the end with a Zimmer onslaught.

''Hero'' still my favourite cue. wink

I am playing it too; although too early for a full opinion, i like the Zimmer tracks much more. Powell's mickey mousing has become too irritating for my ears lately.

A little bit Shrek mickey mousing, Eh?

But Zimmer tracks are more "dramatic" in his line. Powerfull and modern.
