Give it a break, Sunil, people are answering to you, no to mention the 37 pages of such opinions, what else do you want?
See the movie; if you like bombastic, large-scale power anthems in the usual Zimmer style amidst filler electronic-heavy drone especially as used in the movie, you'll love this score on CD; it has some good themes and it's basically an enhancement and a development of the first one. If you're not into the "heavy" Zimmer sound though, then that's probably not for you.
No! thanks, Christ! i made mistake by posting this question. I apologize for that. I have seen that movie for more than 3 times. But you know presentation on CD would certainly differs from movie. Anyhow, thanks to your recommendation. Right now, reading the review from various websites related to this score. I think i have wasted my time as well as yours. Here:
SCORE IN THE MOVIE: contains a couple of more "redux" pieces built on the powerhouse themes, the action side of the score, that are not on CD. Sadly though, the fabulous track "Like a dog chasing cars" which IS on cd (read below), wasn't included in the movie.
SCORE AS HEARD IN THE OFFICIAL CD: comes along with more "filler" electronic-driven pieces than what one can remember from within the movie, but still contains the "Like a dog chasing cars" which is an absolute WIN.
SCORE AS HEARD IN THE OFFICIAL 2CD set: don't buy this at any cost. Contains all the good material already present in the official cd, plus one hour more of drone than offers nothing on CD as a listening experience.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

When you call an entire board a fickle mob when you are the one obviously fickle, then what do you want? Anyway, wasn't getting opinions your point? Well you have 2 new already, focus on them.
My friend, Christodoulides, I was just making fun, i am not at all serious about it. I am not an idiot to call all you people as fickle. If i did that, i should not be here. I think you can understand me now. Ok! i agree i shouldn't use that word "fickle", but my intention was to make fun. Anyhow, i deeply apologize if those words have wounded your feelings. Sunil, I didn't liked your reaction and excuse. Erik just wanted to help, and pointed out there were to look for lots of opinion and discussion.
But well, you wanted to be served right away.Kazoo -

Ok! ok!, I have admitted my fault! i should haven't reacted quickly to Erik's reply. Now, i can understand. I was actually misunderstood Erik. Later on, i realised it that he was trying to help me. Anyhow, let us forget this small bitter incident and let us move on with beautiful discussion on this wonderful forum.

Ralph, it seems to me that you're looking for excuses to jump down Erik's throat just because you have your own differences and believe me, that doesn't concern anyone else besides you two.
I honestly think you wouldn't reply, or you'd reply in a totally different way if it hadn't be Erik who replied like that.
And to classify a whole thread as 37 pages of bickering in TOTAL, without exceptions, that's just over the line if you ask me. Just because some people like to view things differently and criticize some stuff a bit more than you, that doesn't mark discussions going on in the topic (or any other part of the board) as bickering nor does it render them as useless just because a member (or 2) say so.
Now, because people aren’t forced to read the CRAP above (that’s real bickering if you ask me) and since the points you made on the score (apart from it being as better as BB) were already made by me some posts above, I say either discuss the topic further via personal messages, or i am afraid i'll have to start deleting posts.Love Maintitles. Besides, isn't this "bickering" exactly what finally constitutes a full and complete picture for the interested reader?
37 pages of JUST "yo, dude, it, like, SUXX" or "this completely ROCKS" hardly constitutes poignant reading.
On the contrary though, both strong and weak sides of the score are extensively investigated and discussed, leading, in the end, the interested reader to a very clear picture as to the feel, sense and form of the score. In other words, EXACTLY what Sunil was looking for.
And as Sunil himself also already suggested, he misinterpreted Erik trying to help and did the exact thing Erik suggested in the end!

Here is a question.
Do you think Zimmer and James Newton Howard (his very limited touch) will actually venture and write something with originality? Or do you think they will continue taking the backseat and throw the same basic thing out with the next installment?
Is the use and style of the score mainly due to what Nolan wants? Is it Zimmer's take? Or both? Where Nolan hired Zimmer knowing exactly what he would turn up.
Pointless questions, I'm sure you will all agree.
Just interested in case any of you may have an opinion. -

Nolan pretty much decreed he wanted no themes.
So as long as this triumvirate keeps on heading the Batcourse, I guess we'll just get more of the same.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

I think they're going to continue digging this sound they (or should i say HE) created for the franchise; 'cause Nolan likes it, and obviously asked for it in the first place, people dig it, it's loud, it's direct, simple and in your face, and it SELLS, pretty much the "recipe" for successful "modern scores' as the industry wants them to be. I personally don't have a problem with them, as i really like where they're taking their sound with THE DARK KNIGHT; as for the third (or more, if they happen) installment, i believe they're going to expand even more on it; in what direction exactly, it will depend on the tone, story and style Nolan wants to attribute to the new Batman films (take the example of the transition from Da vinci code to Angels and demons for instance).Love Maintitles.
