    Hey guys,
I'm real glad we could have this discussion.
I hope we are all still cool, and that nobody is sore or anything on our disagreements.

It is good boards like this that you can take a very emotional topic people feel strong about and not get overheated.

    Kudos to you mates. wink

I never would've guessed Elfman would be into political activism... but it's the best kind of activism there is. Knowledge about the candidates before you vote on either one of them isn't stupid, but smart. Even before I found out about Elfman's site, I was very much anti-McCain/Palin.

But if anything, he really needs to air the ad in states like North Carolina (where I live when I come back from college) and Virginia (which is my current residence), because I think those two states could swing the election in either McCain or Obama's favor as opposed to Ohio and Pennsylvania.

OMG! Palin got pranked by two Canadian radio hosts who made her believe that she was talking with French President Sarkozy. This is too funny! cheesy

Another example of Palin's incompetence. She's neither funny or smart. I'm sorry but she makes Ann Coulter look like a genius in comparison.

That reminds me why I loath prank calls. Didn't find that funny at all. Made me feel bad for Palin instead.

Wow, she really does not know what to say at the end....poor girl tongue

I still can´t believe they are caught so easily; we´ve had many examples of this kinda calls here in Spain during the past years (specially from a very popluar catalan radio show) , and they are caught like mouses in a trap.

Palin was about 45 minutes from my house yesterday, as well as Biden.

Palin's bus driver came to my church today. I bet she took a plane ride to her next destination.

And that prank call is hilarious. I really feel bad for her. Either she didn't even notice or she was kind of afraid of interrupting the French President to see if he was prank calling her. I doubt it was the latter sad.

Still only 7:23 here so I haven't voted yet. I'm planning on leaving at 8AM. Starbucks has an offer for a free cup of coffee if you vote today, which I'll likely take advantage of. My information pamphlet is well over 100 pages so it took me a good 3 hours to sort through all of the propositions etc.

I wish all Americans would take it as seriously as you do Tom rather than the bigots who simply see it as a black & white issue.

Pfff...knee-jerk semi-leftwing (left wing in America is basically STILL far right to European view points. Something most Europeans tend to forget) sentiments. Hollywood was as high-handed when Reagan came to power and when Bush Sr. came to power (sentiments quickly quelled when they realized Republican tax cuts greatly benefited the Hollywood scene).

The constant hammering on Palin is nothing different from the beating Quayle got (though he managed to postpone looking like a buffoon until AFTER the election, something the Republicans indubitably are indebted to him for, even if it IS likely he had a big hand in losing Bush Sr. the re-election), and distracts from the actual issues.

It'll be extremely interesting to see indeed how much Americans vote on the issues, and how much on superficials.

I wholeheartedly changed my support from McCain to Obama, because McCain prefers an introspective, internal-focused America, while Obama is more than happy to make the world safe for democracy. It's Obama who will keep the UN's peace-keeping forces and tasks alive, and it's Obama who will take a stance against Iran, Syria and the hotbeds in Africa.
Which, in my opinion, is what the world desperately needs, even if it doesn't primarily serves national interests. It's global thinking like that that makes me favour Obama.
But were I American, I would possibly think twice.
