    Indeed but i think we can all agree - other than that, on the fact that Zimmer is probably the highest-rated pr machine in Hollywood nowadays, he's level of "professional coolness" amidst the people he works with (non-composers that is) is probably higher than anyone else at the moment.

    I think rather than sounding Bondish, it's just ripping off everything we've heard before.

    I kinda like the new Bond song (not that this is such a big issue to me, anyway....I don't have the "holy" relationship to the Bond oeuvre as most of you, so this is really just a.....well, song). It's funky and it has plenty of Bond-isms - the "dramatic" harmonies, the brass outbursts. Could benefit from some "breathing space" here and there, but overall I think this is a fine song that will hopefully set the right mood for the film.
    I am extremely serious.

    Really? I think it's totally fresh. I've never heard a Bond song before that utilizes hints of hip hop, r&b, alternative rock and funk. And mixes it all with the classic minor-mode, "drama" harmonies and the brass outbursts. It certainly doesn't sound like a SPOOF. For that, it needs to stick closer to the Barry template and exaggerate the features of that.
    I am extremely serious.
