Although I, like probably many other "atheists", count myself as agnostic in technical terms. I'm 99.99[ad infinatum]% atheist! wink
Actually 99.99[ad infinatum]%=100% (That's not just a silly nitpick, it's also a mathematical fact)

Shut up. You know what I mean. (I'm not the greatest mathematician in the world, I have to admit. In fact, I can only count to 10 because I run out of fingers after that.) -

I knew what you meant, but my desire to annoy was too great to let it go.

Ooh, even *I* cringed at the patronising tone of that one! -
- CommentTimeFeb 9th 2010
Hehe. I found it rather cute and funny, but also with some decent points. Of course I don't believe every christian is like that, and I doubt the maker of the video does either, but spending time talking with christians on christian forums, I encounter these ways of thinking disturbingly often.

Oh absolutely. It's hard not to be patronising to the truly ignorant I guess! -

Why no politics and no religion? Is that for fear of the place becoming a wrestling ring? -

Bless you dear boy Mayhap you were born a little too late to know of FSM's extremely volatile history concerning those subjects.
EDIT: hope I didn't sound patronising, I've been at the FSM board since 1998....an awful lot has changed since thenOn Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Any political thread would boil over within a few posts, this could also stem from a film music thread ( JW's JFK or Nixon or any score involving politics ), FSM being predominantly American populated it would turn into bitter ( and very personal ) slanging matches between Democrats and Republicans and whatever inbetween, even though these conversations are eliminated fairly quickly now you can still spot the animosity between various posters if, like me, you've frequented the board for many years.
And no difference with the religious threads either which always turn into right old ding-dongs, there's some seriously religious nut jobs at FSM. I particularly remember a thread about Miklos Rozsa's biblical themed scores turning into an all out ring war that went on for page after page before finally being shut down.
Yes, there's a VERY good reason why FSM banned politics and religious subjects. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
