- discussion topic JAMES HORNER
- Comment Wow... I never thought in a million years Horner would score a Spider-Man movie. He must've been impressed by the script or the rough cut he saw. I honestly thought a MV/RC composer would get the assignment. Provided Horner doesn't get replaced at the last minute (knock on wood), it'd be something ...

- discussion topic ALEXANDRE DESPLAT
- Comment I actually think the Part 1 action music is pretty damn good, and there was plenty of variety. But Part 2 just feels disjointed and uninspired. Desplat is capable of so much more. I wish David Yates and the producers were allergic to temp-tracks.

- discussion topic ALEXANDRE DESPLAT
- Comment I'm disappointed in Desplat's score for Deathly Hallows: Part 2. There is some beautiful music, but the soundtrack is hit with temp-track syndrome. For every track as beautiful as "Dragon Flight", "Severus and Lily" and "Harry's Sacrifice" there are ...

- discussion topic HENRY JACKMAN
- Comment X-Men: First Class is better than the score it has, sadly. Considering Jackman's pedigree and Vaughn's needs, I expected a really knock-out score like Powell did with X-Men 3. To be sure, the music fits the tone of the movie (barring the electric guitars) but it just isn't noteworthy. ...

- Comment NP: Spider-Man 3 (Christopher Young) So much good material cut from the film and replaced with either Elfman tracks or re-recordings of Elfman's themes. So great to hear "Saving MJ/Armed Forces" without dialogue or audio from the film, and to hear that excised Young theme for ...

- Comment The Rocket Post - Nigel Clarke & Michael Csanyi-Wills Such a beautiful score. It's a nice, relatively quiet score with several really beautiful themes (especially the main one). "First Love", "Kiss" and "First Flight" are the standout cues.

- Comment I watched some of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, which wasn't mentioned at all in the last page. Shearmur's score is charming, but like Shapiro's score for the first film, it's all bitty and Mickey-mousing. And it was nice to see Shearmur use Shapiro's main theme in the sequel, ...

- Comment I'd also like to recommend MSM's Shiver score. The samples may not sound like much, but as a whole, it conjures up an uneasy atmosphere.
