- Comment The film was alright, reminded me of a small play set to film. Ciaran Hinds portrays an Irish widower working at a local literary festival who becomes intrigued by a lovely ghost story writer. She's also being pursued by a famous writer and ex-flame. Hinds' character needs to come to terms with ...

- discussion topic Help: cds damaged by water
- Comment BP, sorry to hear about the flooding and poor CDs. :( Good luck with the resoaking method - it sounds like the best way to go. I think the difficult part is keeping the inserts flat when they dry, since they can get all crinkly.

- Comment The Cove I highly recommend "The Cove" which I managed to catch at the Full Frame Film Festival as a volunteer. It received a standing ovation from the audience, well deserved too, for being a suspenseful documentary about a crack film and diving team infiltrating a guarded cove ...

- Comment Just finished Nightlife by Rob Thurman, and I was really hooked. It's an urban fantasy similar in tone to Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, complete with snarky dialogue, supernatural creatures, and mysteries to solve. Cal, a half human/half elf, and his older brother, Niko, have spent most ...

- Comment Finished Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I like how he makes academic research so accessible and repackages it using his own terms. - Comment I was taken aback by the Twilight hype as well. The first book is engaging because Bella seems so normal. She's a kid trying to take care of her single dad, who's the police chief, and fit in at a new school. Edward belongs to the Cullen 'family', a group of vampires that tries to survive ...
