VIVA LA FETE!
Maquillage!
Noir Desir!
They're from a neighbouring town and performed in my town's park. I remember Martijn liked it very much too when they were touring in The Netherlands! Hadn't seen them live yet but what a crazy band, especially the lead singer. She's mad! Very retro and hip music. Loved it!Kazoo -

This is turning out to be somewhat of a cultural weekend.
Last night was a socalled 'culture night' in Oslo where many of the big institutions had free events. I attended a free concert with the Oslo Philharmonic, where they performed 10 songs by Charles Ives and his beautiful "Three Places in New England", as well as a world premiere of a Norwegian composer (very interesting!) and the orchestral piece "Sad Jane" by Frank Zappa -- rarely performed. Anyone else heard these pieces?
After that, we went to explore our own town hall and an open microphone/poetry session at another place -- with specialty beer, of course.
Today, I'll be meeting a group of Norwegian (film) composers again, and first we'll see the annual autumn art exhibition before delving into more beers and lofty conversations.
LONG LIVE CULTURE!I am extremely serious. -

Yeah, well, I just had a cup of tea and some cake, Spaghetti Napoli for lunch before that. I have a bag of hot potato crisps ready for the evening, salted pistachios, too. I bought Oblivion and Star Trek into Darknes on DVD this week and I have yet to decide what to put on. Probably Oblivion since I haven't seen that film at all yet. Some beer is waiting in the fridge.
That's all.
Volker
PS: It's raining cats and dogs and I won't put as much as my nose out the door.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

Neither. They're both pretty bad. (Visually, they're quite good.) -

Come on, Volker! Let's go to a RAVE!!!!
No, seriously, an inside evening can be good now and then too. Your plan with POTATO CHIPS, beer and a film sounds a-ok in my book. Play OBLIVION, though...it's by far the superior of the two. Loved the film. STAR TREK....meh, kinda indifferent.I am extremely serious. -

What are big and little beers in your book? Pint and Half Pint? (About 1l / 0,5l)
1l is a Bavarian "Maß".
In Germany big bottles (Dicke) contain 0,5l, little bottles (Stubbies) contain 0,33l.
In a pub (Kneipe) a little bear is 0,2l, a big one is 0,4l .
Cheers!
Volker
PS: In Germany on a private parties we are in the annoying habit of bottle-feeding ourselves with beer. I very much prefer glasses. What about you?Bach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

Can't remember the quantity today, but it wasn't 20. Maybe 20 units, though, since some of them were strong specialty beers (usually 0.33 litres). It was an expensive night out, to be sure.I am extremely serious. -

Soon off to a 40th birthday for a prominent Norwegian film composer, who lives a bit out of town. Should be great. I'll have to restrain myself to avoid karaoke nagging, especially with so many musicians present.I am extremely serious. -
