NP: SYMPHONY NO. 6 IN A MINOR....GUSTAV MAHLER This is a new release on the Artek label performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic conducted by Gerard Schwarz. William, my favorite recording of the work has always been by Karajan with the BPO. The Andante is performed with the delicacy it deserves on this release.

Partridge is OK, but it's not my favourite comedy. I love stuff that is more absurd and "out-there". I guess you have to be British to REALLY get it?I am extremely serious. -

That hasn't stopped Martijn from "getting it" and loving it but yes, I think it helps a lot to know British culture to really get it.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Yes! Best not the leader though.
I would consign too many of peoples favourites into the 'pollution' category.

A weekly chairman perhaps?....So no one person becomes egomaniacal!?
NP : SYMPHONY # 5 - Ralph Vaughan Williams
Gorgeous and incredibly deep work, possibly ( with the exception of his 7th which is based on a film score ) his most accessable symphony for first time listeners?
p.s. No pollution here

I honestly don't think there's any point in deleting any of it. What's been said (and there have been some absolute gems!

And what has been seen will be brandished upon our brains.
For EVER.
NP: Invaders Must Die - The Prodigy
This latest album from the rather scary but VERY influential British vanguard in electronic/techno/dance music is, slightly surprisingly- very good! I thought by now the genre would have beaten itself to death, and to be sure: there's only so much one can do with thumping bass and techno percussion.
Yet, even though there's not any new ground covered as such, Invaders Must Die carries a very fresh vibe, mainly due to the limitless energy and adrenalin that imbues each track.
Danceable AND listenable.

Told you so
PRODIGY defined a whole genre and generation and i am happy to observe they still do and in fresh ways, even after all these years. If only more musical minds like that (not style, not genre, minds) existed in film music of today.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
