As I said Tom, apart from the immortal stand out choral tour-de-force ( and yes D, incredibly influential ) I just find the complete work a wee bit boring. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

I remember the first time I heard it the only thing I got out of it was noise, noise, and thumping feeling from my eardrums. Now I truly enjoy it. Tim is right about lightweight listening to beware.listen to more classical music! -

I've got a bigger appetite for Wagner in this form. The Opera's I can only take a bit at a time.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

NP : SYMPHONY # 1 - David Bedford
Playing this LOUD!!! I fooking love it!
I've mentioned it before but there are some Goldenthalisms about this work, this work was written in 1985 though I think the similarities are coincidental, more of a strong flavour than any suggestion Goldenthal was cribbing. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Yes! Very!
There isn't much stuff available of Bedford's and as far as I know that's the only symphony he's written, it's very VERY film music like.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Opera is the quintessential art form, but I agree that it demands much from it's listeners. "Tosca" was the first one I watched and was able to appreciate. Magnficent work by Puccini! -

^ Couldn't agree more. tsso.gr presented it last year and i had the opportunity to work with them at the live video coverage, that music is simply magnificent; so much drama and pathos, so strong sentiments, such passionate melodies...loved every minute of it, a very moving work indeed.Love Maintitles. Listened to last night...
Cyril Morin - Western Pansori
I was checking some samples on Morin's website and came across a cool James Bond-ian cue from this album and it was a must buy after that.
Some parts are perfect for a modern Bond score. Other cues have Indian vocals (Vidya Rao) and are from his standard ethnic template-- a gorgeous string section and powerful ethnic vocals over it. There's also some electro/synth stuff to round up the album. Cool! -
